http://brewpublic.com/beer-fundrais...distributing-collaborate-on-paddle-trail-ale/ Crux and Sierra Nevada (and Columbia Distributing) are collaborating on Paddle Trail Ale. Brewed and canned at SN for OR distro. Benefitting the Bend Paddle Trail Alliance, the volunteer nonprofit who championed the Bend Whitewater Project nearing completion in a few weeks. I'm stoked on multiple levels: Crux beer in a can, a session beer using an experimental hop variety, helping a project from which I'll reap direct benefits. There's no way I'm taking my first float through the new section without one of these.
Don't forget your buddy to the north! Seriously though, this is great. There's a couple smaller projects in a similar vein up here, and I hope there's more to come.
From the press release: To help the BPTA repay their loan, Crux Fermentation Project, Sierra Nevada Brewing Company, and Columbia Distributing will donate $2 for every four-pack of Paddle Trail Ale, a collaboration beer; they expect to net over $30,000 for the cause, covering a significant portion of the BPTA loan. 15,000 4pks for OR doesn't sound like it'll be that scarce.
