I'm curious what will make it a "Caribbean" inspired mix. But I'm a sucker for any and all of Olde Hickory's stouts.

I'm curious too. Nutmeg? Cloves? Cinnamon? Ginger? Allspice? So many potential options.

Could be all of those! It does say "Caribbean inspired mix of spice..." Not sure what "natural flavor" it'll be. Scotch Bonnet peppers?

Any insight if this is replacing the Event Horizon Rum barrel variant that was supposed to be released in June?

I've never heard of that. They've released casks of that, but never heard it was going to bottles.

I remember reading awhile back about EH in rum barrels. Either way, I'm totally in on this beer.

And speaking of EH, did anyone notice the recent influx of 2014 bottles to the Triangle? I guess they were in hiding for a while and now Mims is pushing out leftovers since they took over distribution rights.

Where are these bottles showing up @KRubes if you don't mind me asking?

Bottle shops were posting about it for the past few weeks. I forget which ones.

They might be low or gone by now, but Bottle Rev and State of Beer had some last week.

-It is the event horizon... plus the spices and rum barrels. There's never been a release date set as far as I remember, and seeing as how the labels are just showing up, it probably wont drop in the next 6 weeks.... Carolus Magnus will most likely come out first!

-Guys, no lie, if you want this you better be quick. What started out as maybe 20 barrels was whittled down to just over 3 due to the poor quality of the barrels. Sucks out loud. There won't be much of this to go around. If it tastes as good as the sap that seeps out of the barrel (I don't know the correct term for that), then it is amazing.

I'm assuming this will be a release, or will it get distro'd out?

He has said that this variant would be released in bottles, that was the plan anyway a few months again.
