A brewery back home called Lord Hobo had cans and multiple interview articles, and adds in BA Magazine before they had a brewery. They contract brewed a couple times. But same situation. Kinda weird.

So much pretension packed into so few words. It's glorious.

I don't think Duca Brasi is anything other than a homebrewery. Or at least I hope not. I really, really hope not.

If they don't i) oversell it, and ii) have shitty Pittsburgh weather, that sounds like an ass-smackin' good time.

Just had to clean up nearly 60 off-topic posts. This thread is meant to provide information about new breweries in this specific area. Let's keep it on track and take the chitchat to a private conversation. Thanks.

PS - And read the first post in this thread.

Saw this. The first one was way cool; disappointed that the last one was cancelled--especially at the last minute. I love Pipers, but the cancellation was handled poorly. Happy to see they are back on track, but I've out of town plans that weekend and regrettably won't be able to attend. In any regard, interested to see the list of breweries involved growing.

God forbid we create a community on here that would encourage people to use the site, right? That would be horrible...

Anyway, of the new breweries that are in the works, who has had anything from them? Impressions?

Off the top of my head, I can think of:
    Insurrection
    Abjuration
    Cellarworks
    Couch
    Particle
    Allegheny City Brewing
    Dancing Gnome
    ???

Abjuration is the only one I can distinctly remember having and was fairly impressed. They had a really nice Equinox IPA that was very much in the vein of modern NE IPAs or CPA/MOMO and Roundabout IPAs for those less familiar. They also had a really nice Oatwine and a bunch of session Blondes that were nice. I have decent expectations for them. Do we have any reviews for any other soon to be breweries out there?

My impression is that these folks should have thought longer about what they were going to name their breweries. Of the lot, I think only "Cellarworks" is decent. The rest are either failed names of Russian River beers or things you can buy at a home and garden store...

Its a fair question, but I am more just posting things that are potentially positive for the State. I figured it was relevant to the group.

I want to see things change across the board and get excited when I see potential change in the works. If you guys don't find it helpful or beneficial to the group I won't post it.

And yet none are as bad or worse than Couch.

No...I think the posts are helpful...purely curious since the topic seems to be a passion of yours (or maybe pet peeve is more accurate :stuck_out_tongue:).
