If you want to try SR 71 the secondary market, events like the one at Dexter's, or a bottle share are going to be your only options. If you can't use your beer/friend capital then Dexter's is the cheapest way to do it.

I think all TG BA Stouts come from a base beer called Norseman's Wrath. I've seen Norseman's Wrath stickers covering the wall of the men's room back before the bathroom remodel, but I've never seen it on tap and I've drank there pretty regularly since April of 2012.

That could be. Since MD isn't barrel aged, that makes sense.

As with any of these threads one guy says, "This is definitely what it is, I know for sure!" (while refusing to say how he knows.

Someone else responds with, "No, I know for sure, came from someone in the know, if you know what I mean!!" (while refusing to name anyone).

And finally, in this one we have a couple of old Mike and Clark BA posts that contradict what the people who know are saying.

I honestly think that every time someone asks them about how they make their beer Mike and Clark make a concerted effort to change the story slightly so as to fuck with everyone.

Only they know... and they ain't telling.

I could see this. And I have zero problems with it.

SR-71 is a road in Florida, Utah, Georgia and Indiana. And it's a band from Baltimore.

In all seriousness, would love to try this some day.

So SR-71 is the Vanilla & Caco Nib version of Assassian?

I've heard several accounts of people saying they picked up a lot of maple, and I didn't get any maple in 14 Assassin. I wont open the SR71 until the dead of winter, so won't have any feedback until then.

SR-71 I had was amazing. that was all that mattered. I had it up against a CW16, it was a good night.

My notes aren't that detailed on these - as I was tasting in a group setting, and was not that big into full ratings when I did them

    CW 16 -4.83
    SR-71 - 4.9
