Think the social media person for Caliente gets paid per letter/character. I follow them on Twitter and enjoy their bar, but their tweets are an effin orgy mess of hashtags.

    Not about beer. Reported!!!!!!!!!

Cellarworks brewer and I have a mutual friend from school. Was talking to him on Facebook yesterday and today. I asked him about opening and styles they'll be making. He said:

"I don't want to say quite yet because it's a moving target, but the ducks are in a row finally so, soon. A large portion of the beer we produce is sour, wild, 100% brett, farmhouse, etc. We also brew the "normal" IPAs and whatnot."

Not a ton of information but it's something.

Cellarworks was at BOTB two years ago. I had their Berliner with Raspberry syrup/puree/whatever it was added. I remember it being tasty.

They were calling it 'Raspberry Donut', though, which drew a giant line. Most of which probably had no idea what a Berliner entails.

Did they add the syrup before hand or on site? I remember going to a beerfest in MI sometime in the early 2000's and there was a booth that offered a berliner with your choice of 3 different syrups. My favorite was the woodruff. Haven't really seen it since that point.

On-site. You could have it plain, with raspberry, or with blueberry.

Think Troegs may have done this within their Scratch series--not sure if it was two different scratches, or if it was a special event that offered the one beer, with and without syrup.

EDIT: Looking at their list, I'm wondering if it was 186 and 194.

somebody must be 'reporting' on the thread. Or are we just that famous?

I DL'd it and I agree. It seems devoid of interactive content. It has a good interface, categories, etc. and seems like it could really be on par with this thread :stuck_out_tongue: but needs more development. He said in the blog post to leave whatever feedback you have and that he is eager to take people's opinions and suggestions. I would like to see a stack of promotional business cards forn the app* in breweries and beer bars around the city. It would hopefully garner more users, input from brewers, and thus content. We'll see.

Speaking of berliners and syrup...TRASH offered a base and syruped version at Beers of the Burgh in May.

I don't know about anyone else but I would be more inclined to seek it out if it were Overgrowth with peaches.

Anyone check out the latest BA mag? There's an article about hazy IPAs & how much is too much.

Cool. Can you scan all the pages and post the files (preferably in a .tiff or PDF) for those of us that don't have a subscription?

Things that no one mentioned here yet that are actually Pittsburgh beer related:

9th Annual Millvale Brew Fest at Millvale Riverfront Park - Saturday, August 8, 2015
    • Over 180 Craft, Micro, Nano and Specialty Brews from around the country will be featured.
    • Two Sessions with three different tiers of tickets available.

Science of Beer at the Carnegie Science Center - Friday, August 14th
    • North Country Brewing Company, Hop Farm Brewing Company, Draai Laag, Gristhouse, Spoonwood Brewing, Duquesne Brewing Company, Block House Brewing Company, and Straub Beer are pouring.
    • Draai Laag Brewing Company is giving a presentation on wild fermentation which sounds cool
    • Another presentation called BubbleMania which is about, you guessed it, bubbles. Sounds pretty lame

Has anyone ever been to either of these before or plan on going this year? Just wondering if either are worth while.

Went to the one in Millvale once. I enjoyed it, but it was way too hot.
