Hey gang, startin' this up for NEBCO for August.

Looks like today's (8/5) tap list is:
    Fat Ten-er #8
    Galaxy Pale Ale
    Sea Hag
*Weiss Trash Culture (no growlers; samples and 4 packs only - limit 3 per customer)

They also have Weiss Trash tank tops for sale.

    Cheers!

Just bumping the new thread up. Any issues with lines today? Weiss trash left?

I'm out of town his weekend. Just doing a BA forum solid with my questions.

I'd guess Weiss Trash will last through a portion of tomorrow. They had two stacks of cases behind the bar and about 5 cases high on a pallet inside the brewery overhead door when I left.

Absolutely no line from 525-600pm. Growler wait was around 5 minutes. Galaxy tasting good as always.

Thanks, going to go today after work, I'm sure they'll have one 4-pack left for me. At least, I hope! I haven't had Weiss Trash or Galaxy yet and both of them have been high on my list to try, especially in the summer.

Anybody able to grab a tank for me? I'll be in CT next weekend and would be happy to reimburse you with beer, cash, or a combo.

This batch of Galaxy is the best they've made. Ultra juicy with a killer nose.

I stopped by at around 4:30, no line, picked up growlers of Galaxy and #8, also grabbed two 4 packs of Weiss Trash that I will be pounding during a golf tournament tomorrow.

Anybody think they add anything to the tap list for Saturday? Any shot at some Bot?

I personally don't understand NEBco's plan. I love them, but feel that they're dropping the ball.

First of all, the communication needs much improvement. They often don't update their tap list until after they have already opened or just before. I'm sure they are aware of what is ready well before that. They need to put that up earlier so people can plan to go or not, or start their long drive. There have been times I've gone elsewhere because NEBco put up no list.

Second, I don't really get their brewing philosophy. They have all of these great beers like Bot, FBD, Locust Reign, IST, Coriolis, etc. However, they rarely have much of that on tap. For example, for most of the summer their list was Sea Hag (which is great, but I can get it at any bar, restaurant, or shop), a saison, a blonde, and then maybe one of their more sought after beers like Bot, Coriolis or Supernaut. There's just not much to motivate me to head down there when I can go to TH and get Green, Haze, & Julius all in one trip.

Obv, they can brew what they want. But, there have been no lines at NEBco and I think this is why. Maybe we'll see some changes when they expand their brew house in the fall.

Hag takes precedence. It's takes about 90% of their brewing capacity and even then they can't satisfy demand.

On a serious note; anyone know what the status of #8 was at close? Or WTC?

Your last sentence is the crux of the issue. I believe they are only at 15 or 20 bbl capacity right now, and they have ordered a new brewhouse which will allow them to double current production. Their goal is to return back to what is was like a few years ago when Sea Hag, 668, Elm City, Wet Willy, and Gandhi-Bot were ALWAYS on the shelves on your local packy. Right now all they make is Sea Hag and the occasional 668 batch. You have to go to the brewery for anything else since they are so short on capacity. Demand has truly bested supply for the time being.

In time and with the expansion I think we will see a lot more beer (and a better diversity of beer) on the shelves and in the bars, and then NEBCo could make a solid rotation of their top level offerings at the brewery and it won't kick on the first or second day.

    Welcome to BA, cheers!
