Soooo, Congress St. vs. Focal Banger?

 

Haha those would be strong contenders for 3 and 4. Focal has been pretty tough to get from this latest release though.

And last time I tried to have a blind IPA tasting everything tasted the same and I think I ended up rating Long Trail Limbo higher than Jai Alai, Nugget Nectar, etc.

 

so @devilfluff and @jawas I am going to be in Robbinsville, NJ 08691 (near Trenton) on Tuesday night. Any ideas of where to grab a beer and good meal? Any good bottle shops near by as well? Ill be flying out of Newark on Wednesday 8/12 so if there are any must stops on the way north please let me know as well.

ShopRite Wine & Spirits, 3161 Quakerbridge Rd, Hamilton Township, NJ 08619 (about 5 miles)

Restaurant/bar:

Blend Bar, 871 Highway 33 Hamilton Square, NJ 08690 (3 miles, decent tap list with Carton, Spellbound, Forgotten Boardwalk, no idea about food quality)
Uno's Chicago Grill, 225 Sloan AveHamilton, NJ 08619 (5 miles, chain deep dish pizza joint with decent food a good beer list)

I think all the reasonably close breweries are closed on Tuesday.

I'm further north, but are you going to have any time near Newark airport? I'm only about 20 minutes from there (south and west), so I can help you more in that area. There is another Joe Canals near the intersection of the NJT and Parkway in Woodbridge (sometimes called Iselin). If you are willing to go up the Parkway to Newark Airport, I can send you closer to my house to a couple of nice stores, depends on your schedule and whether you'll be around rush hour. Detours around rush hour can end up costing you a lot of time near me.

Edit: The trenton area is also about an hour from me, Southwest. I'm probably closer than @devilfluff miles wise, but there is no good way for me to get there.

More Edits: Don't go to Trenton! Princeton is a nice town, not too sure of beer selection there, but you'll definitely find some nice places to eat. Bent Spoon has some great ice cream.

 

Its been 10 years since I lived in NNJ, (Sussex County) so these guys know better, Im a good 2-3 hours south. Jersey City Buy Rite is worth the side trip if you have a car and some time to deal with Holland Tunnel traffic.

Been doing a bit of lurking since the 12DoS came to a close, and this post has me poking my nose into the Locals business.

I also went to NU ('01-'07... took the scenic route) and have stuck around the area while enjoying the booming MA beer scene. Did we overlap at all?

Also - shameless plug... running a LIF for the Rugby World Cup (September 18th - October 31st). What's on the line? Oh, just a haul of Trillium, Tree House, and a mess of other deliciousness from elsewhere around New England, as well as my cellar. Hope to see some entries from the Locals!
