Too small of a batch to make it out to distribution. Our goal is to eventually have the Funk'd series see distro but need a bit more time to build up our barrel stock of the beer.

I'm surprised that there is no discussion related to the taste of the Carravagio. As I understand it, that was released/on tap on Monday. Anyone have thoughts on taste besides the one review?

It's getting good ratings on untappd so I picked up an extra bottle to split with a friend.

I snagged an extra bottle with high hopes that it'll be decent. The ratings on Untappd seemed to indicate just that so we'll see...

I grabbed an extra bottle based on the description, def wondering what people think of it. I thought the beer sounded phenomenal!

Is this really 8.5% abv? They really aren't making these all too cellaring friendly at all.

I just got around to looking this up on untappd, followed by apple brandy lechedor. The ratings on lechedor are pretty incredible. I guess I'll be looking there now that BA has changed its rating policy. Now it's time to get a taste of that lechedor for myself!

Its quite good. Nice barrel presence, good carb and thickness, and a good depth and compexity of flavors. Nothing amazing but easily the best of the bunch so far. (caravaggio)

That is so sad. I had been hoping to get a chance to try this one but didn't really have time this week and didn't expect it to go so fast. Seems like these aren't sticking around the taproom nearly as long as they were last year. :slight_frown:

Bummed about this as well. I was away last week and planned to come in this weekend to try the beer and pick up my bottle. @masterob8 commented earlier in the same thread that with Picasso, they underestimated the demand for the beer (it lasted three days on tap), so they'd keg more for Hogarth. I remember Hogarth lasting a few weeks on tap (correct me if I'm wrong, BAers), which was nice. But now Caravaggio lasts just a week?

I know there are twice the number of members in 2015 as there were in 2014, which leads to more people drinking from the Members Only line, but it seems like of the first three beers, two have disappeared super quick.

I went last night and they said they pulled it to save it for the end of year party. Said they didn't keg very much at all. Definitely annoying that Picasso lasts a few days, Hogarth is on for two months, then Caravaggio lasts less than two weeks. On the plus side, Somer Weisse was delicious and much more suited to warm summer nights than a stout.

Pretty sure Picasso lasted a few days because they released it during EBF weekend as well so a lot of Barrel Society members were in town and drinking a lot.

Yeah, and Hogarth was released during ACBF weekend with a similar-sized (if not bigger) crowd in town, and that one lasted for about four to five weeks -- maybe more? -- on tap. Logic doesn't work for me.

I'd just like some more clarification about how long these things are supposed to last. I don't imagine there was significantly less demand for Hogarth than the other beers. Perhaps the yield was lower with Caravaggio and that's why they ran out of it so quickly on tap? Disappointing to hear they told @abagofit that they didn't keg very much at all, especially after Picasso kicked after three days.

I'm going to play devil's (beer) advocate here and suggest that there may be other factors at play when beers sell out quickly at the taproom.

My suspicion is that they likely have been getting more of a crowd in the summer so in general beers turn faster. It's probably difficult to forecast how quickly a beer will sell out (on draft) as well. Maybe a big party of BS members comes in and get a couple pours of the BS draft line. Beer geeks can do some serious damage in one sitting.

Lastly, of the four times I've been there this year I've had the barrel society draft each time and have yet to be asked if I'm a BS member. This indicates there are non-likely non-members drinking it. Doesn't bother me because I've got a bottle anyhow.
