Sounds amazing. Please share your pics/experiences. I need to learn more about this.

    Cheers.

Thread watched, very interested in this. I'll be heading up to HF for the first time at the end of the month as part of my bachelor party. My not super beer nerd friends would appreciate to go and have a beer rather than only stand in line to go home with beer.

Second hand report from @Gsulliv2, but supposedly there is now a ticket number system, so you go get your ticket and place your order then get to hang out. They should have a bar and small plate/tapas type food (like cheese platers) to enjoy. Sounds like a huge improvement, so that you can really enjoy the place as you hang out and wait for fills. Looking forward to checking it out someday soon!

Sounds similar to Tree House. Yea, you may have to wait a couple hours for growler fills, but at least you don't have to stand in a line the entire time. Great improvement!

They've had the ticket system for a couple months, but on days with lousy weather I would imagine it was getting pretty sweaty inside. This is a long-awaited and huge improvement to the experience.

Very interested to get info on the taproom and it's layout!

My only suggestion to the new system is to have the tasters be a spot on the list that they punch. If I go and have no cash I run the chance of no tasters. I've had them say 'just tell them when you cash out' but also seen them turn people down and how it's strictly cash only. Now, what happens if you're a party of two, both get tasters but only need one slip? Double punch?

Having never been, can you explain what you mean? Do they give you a punch card or something?

They give you a little slip of paper with your order number on it. I think he's saying they could punch it or indicate on it in someone what you requested the tasters and thus allow you to pay for everything - tasters + to-go - in one transaction at the end.

As it stands now, tasting and purchasing beer to go (bottles and/or fills) is two separate lines, and two separate purchases. Can not be purchased/cashed out together.

Right, that's how it is now, but the purchases could be combined into one. The lines would remain separate.

Hmmm.. I Didn't think of paying before you're done with your samples. But I just find that odd and a little inconvenient if you don't bring cash. People would inevitably take advantage of it.. Nothing to see here.

I know I'm going to miss peeing in the porta potties when it's 10 degrees out...

This sounds pretty interesting! What is the wait like to get/fill out your ticket? And after that, how long does it take to get the beer? The one time I went to HF, I had to abandon getting any growlers filled because the line was so incredibly long and the people I was with couldn't wait for 2 hours. It was still fun to get tasters and tacos, though. But having a proper pint and some lunch and then leaving with full growlers sounds downright pleasant.

are the portapotties really gone? winter- ha that was a piece of cake. Getting the courage to go in the overful portapotty when it was 90 degrees well lets just say that deserved a medal.

and I'm assuming we won't be sampling warm beer in the sun anymore in plastic cups? Because that rocked.

We arrived at HF yesterday at noon. There was no line to grab a ticket. Once we handed in our ticket, it was an hour and a half wait to get our beers. While waiting, we were able to buy two full pours of their bottled saisons. We enjoyed our beers on the scenic deck attached to their new testing room. Staff told us that their tap room hopefully will be on line in a month or so, and they will be offering full pours of draft beers. What an experience!

Something tells me that not having a job at the moment is about to work in my favor. Hopefully this will allow for a smooth HF experience, paired with some nice new things. Tasting shelf saisons before buying? Hell yeah!

CD13 will be poured too since the yield was too small for release too so you may luck out
