    Haha when I saw this thread title I just assumed they'd sold out to AB inbev, that will teach me to jump to conclusions I guess

    Oh, really? I guess I just assumed since they omitted the word "Belgian" on the bottle. Guess I shoulda looked closer, haha.

    It's serious. ADWTD was very creamy and the seventeen percent alcohol is non-existent. I was pleasantly surprised but it should be paired with something, or enjoyed after a meal that includes something high in protein, like steak or swine and mash per taters.

    Not in MD. Someone in Cali picked one up for me. Haven't gotten it yet. It will end up almost as expensive, but I will drink anything FW makes. I don't question those.

    Paid $30 in Chicago. Fan of barleywines, but this one didn't do it for me. Echo some of what has been said above on the sweetness. Would probably pay $15 for this, so that was likely the first and last time I will have it.

    Drank my first bottle a couple weeks ago and I would happily pay $36 for another. Yes, it is sweet, but so is port and the cognac barrel aging makes it taste, to me, like a barleywine/port hybrid. If you don't like port, don't buy it. I love port so I thought it was divine. I split it with a friend because of the extreme ABV and, even though he ended up having one third of the bottle and I got the rest, in retrospect I could've easily drank the whole bottle to myself it was so delicious.

    Oops no I was just mocking batch one that has the misspelled word Belgian. If u check closely it says "begian"
    Batch 2 I believe was whiskey only.

    Funny enough I like batch 2 more of darkest hour but batch 1 more of deal. Batch 1 I felt less sweet
