It's not just hype. It's people knowing that they can buy the max amount of a limited beer (and use friends/family as mules or more nefarious means) to gather enough of it as possible. Then they immediately start flipping it for equally inflated whales. It's super lame behavior but a lot of extreme beer nerds are super lame people.

+1. Same exact convos I've seen in your OH since being in NY, I've seen in every genie JK release too. Except they've never done the mid-day bottle limit change on us (yet). Always get there early (if you can), the hype is real.

Dumb question, but how is this a pale ale at 7.8%

It's an obvious pale ale, obviously.

Ha! I mean, I assumed that it's an pun-y IPA; just asking because some folks on Untappd referred to it as a pale. But that's on me for being gullible and naive.

I'll suss it out for myself tonight when I open a bottle!

Will be able to buy bottles after 4pm correct? Says growlers, but I would assume growlers AND bottles after 4?
And green street will be avail in growlers at 4? Or just trillium still?

Just cracked a bottle to see what it' all about.

My review is up if people are interested in my thoughts. It is definitely a Trillium style pale ale, in the same vein as Fort Point, but it is slightly sweeter and dryer. I'd prefer Fort Point over it.

Interesting. More like Trillium's pales than their IPA's or DIPAs? Its ABV is between Trillium's IPAs and DIPAs.

Sweet spot for me was a late lunch break. Headed over from the Financial District at about 2:10 p.m., was in line with about 15 others by 2:20 p.m., out by 2:40 p.m. and back to my desk with plenty of time to spare. It was after the limit dropped from six to four, but I didn't really care about that.

Really well done on crushing the line today, @JCTetreault and Trillium staff! Hope to see this strategy in the future of bottles only for four hours, then start growler fills later. That strategy and your awesome staff got through that line in no time at all...

I'm finding it sweeter (kind of candy flavor) than I remember Fort Point being. The finish has all the dryness; not sour/tart type dryness but definitely dryer than Fort Point.

Definitely in that high ABV, little bitterness realm.

I'd pick up a bottle if you can but don't feel like you missed the best beer of the year if you miss out.

Agreed, awesome move having bottles only for a certain window. There always seem to be enough people confused about the fact that there are two different lines to make just getting bottles slower than it would be otherwise when growlers are on as well. But it's almost never an issue for me, as I just start walking to the front of the line asking "bottles or growlers"
