It's tough. You want to reward people for coming out during for the release but at the same time spread the wealth to the locals who can't make it during the day. There doesn't seem to be a right answer and every time there is a limited release at any brewery the limit is questioned. I think 4 bottles would have been a good but then we would have people saying "what only 4 bottles?"

Then people would be complaining about the low limits. Some releases run better than others but there is literally no way to do it that doesn't put someone at a disadvantage.

Eh, a 6 bottle limit seems really reasonable to me. I think it has to be worthwhile for people traveling from distance. Complaints about locals not getting stuff rings pretty hollow to me. I guess they may miss out on something now and then but, come on, they have access to this place all the time. If someone from an hour or two away can make plans to get to a release then that is great for them. Try living up here in New Hampshire!

green street is pretty good but i definitely prefer the sleeper street that i also grabbed. i probably like fort point pale ale just a bit more than green street. shit is solid though

After immediately finding a spot on Congress, walked in at 3:50, got my 4 bottles and then waited about 15 min to get my growlers filled. Pretty painless experience. Heard it was a mess earlier in the day though. I'll gladly take 2 less bottles for an easy visit. Really enjoying this beer.

Did I read it correctly? Bottles sold out! Holy shit it was like 200 cases right? So 2400 bottles in less than 8hrs

We've got people complaining about the limits being too high, we've got someone complaining about people buying beer to trade, have we had "Don't these people have JOBS?! Who can wait around for beer on a monday afternoon?" complaint yet?

This is a good beer but flavor profile not as much to my liking as any FPPA variant. Could be the effect of the Valley Rye Malt -- or the unique hop varieties. Waited in the long line around noon but it went quick and got a Praire Bomb Stout w some oysters at R34 and was back at work by 2pm. Love the hustle of the staff at Trill to pull this release off -- the three servers behind the bar acting like the customer's time is important. Looking forward to more collabs -- but how do you improve on perfection??

Stopped in after work at 2:15, line was maybe 20 deep. Got out with 4 Green St. and 2 Sleeper St. within the 24 minutes I paid the meter (1 minute left) then I went and did my honey do list chores and came back at 4:05, maybe 10 people deep and looked like 6-8 cases left. Talked to Will (who was killing it on the growler fills, maybe 2 minutes from the time my growlers hit the bar top to in my hand) and then as I was leaving had the pleasure of exchanging pleasantries with Mrs. Trillium herself. JC and Esther are so down to earth and genuinely kind and appreciative. She was thanking _me_ for stopping by... no ma'am THANK YOU for the world class brews. You guys knocked it out of the park today. Now to crack one of the 32's and see what we have here. Cheers!

I would not have traveled from Jersey this weekend for a lesser bottle limit, 6 was the perfect number. I was third in line (got there around 9:30, walked out at 12:03 with 6 green street, 1 sleeper, and 1 trillium and a green street tshirt) and when I walked past the line again at around 12:20 on my way to lunch, there were about 150 people left in line (I'd estimate about 50 6'ers had been sold at that point - and all of my estimates assume that everyone in line got the full 6).

The estimate was that there'd have been enough 6'ers for 400 people, so a 6 bottle a person limit seemed really reasonable. Plus they held growler fills until 4 so that people who missed out on the bottles wouldn't miss out on the beer completely (there wasn't even a line for growler fills at 5-5:30, my friend walked in, filled, and was out in less than 5 min). Sorry if you missed it, but, as I waited in line for 2 and half hours, I really don't have any sympathy. Yeah it sucks to miss a release, but the early bird gets the worm.

    tl;dr: I agree completely @BigStein88

I made the same mistake, just recently joined, didn't know the trading rules and got a post flagged. Not sure if I'm banned from trading, although I've never even done a single trade. Thanks for clarifying the rules, now I know going forward!

Flying out of Boston Sat afternoon back home. Hoping to make a quick stop by Trillium before heading to airport. Is there normally a line to get in/get bottles at opening on Saturdays?

Not like today. Openings are usually a 10 minute wait, tops. You should be fine no matter what time you go. I have never been in line more than 20 minutes other than Apricot Stonington but that was a special release.

Thanks for info. I have to turn in rental car and get to the airport by 2:00, so will definitely stop by.

It's tough, dude, and I get the issue. If it's simply paying for the cost, it's almost like you'd just asked a friend to buy them for you (it's just that you didn't know the friend yet). But at the same time, I guess you can't run a site in which such a gray area is publicly discussed.

I've had times when I've, for instance, picked up more HF than I've needed, so that others who aren't able to access the stuff can get to experience it. A favor, for sure, and seems to me like good BA-ing. But I get why it can't really happen, too.

What's surprising isn't that talk of selling alcohol is banned, it's that talk of trading alcohol is allowed.

Oh boy do I remember that release….was one of the reasons why I decided to back out on going to pick up Green Street today (and the 1hr and 30 minute drive)…that Stonington release was easily an hour long line if I recall correctly.
