Does anyone know how many bottles are available for each? Couldn't that factor into how long it took to sell out? I doubt they made as much of either as they did Bretta Rose and Sour Opal.

    Bretta Rose had 500 cases.

Went to Barrelworks this past Friday. Saw a 3L of feral one (batch 2) and Bretta Rose in the cooler. Apparently they put it out about a hour before I arrived. Chit chatted with the bartender that I was thinking of grabbing them after I finish "sampling" and close out my tab. Two other people there other than my group.

About five minutes later one of the guys gets up and looks at the 3L and grabs the Bretta Rose and buys it :slight_frown:. I did get the Feral One tho!

I talked to the manager about them doing 3Ls and he said they bottled around 30 of each batch and will just randomly release 3 at a time of the stuff they have on hand. First come first serve. Kinda cool. A random reward for making the drive up ;D.

Curious, how much did the 3L cost?

Same thing that has been said in here basically. Barrelworks said they went to one ticket per purchase to cut down on people who sell their bottles on the secondary market. People said this doesn't really cut down on mules. Barrelworks admitted that they can't stop people from purchasing multiple tickets under multiple names/IDs.

I got lucky one time there, and picked up a wood box set of Ferral one. Box and bottles all signed.

    185. A relatively hefty markup from the original by bottle pricing. The El Gordo was 150 i believe

I mean, I'm still not sure how it exactly cuts back on reselling of bottles more so as it cut back the ability to ride with your S.O. or buddy in one ticket purchase (doubt anyone had time to complete an order and refresh to get another anyway)

As for bottle counts, about 400 cases of Krieky and 200 of Zinskin. With some 15 or so cases going up to Paso/sticking around in the back for random weekends of shelf stocking like the stories above. So I wouldn't say that attendance numbers will be all that much lower and isn't the reasoning for such a quick sell out. People are just more aware and vigilant in trying to get them.

I have no idea how it cuts down on reselling bottles either. But I'm also in the small group of people who is fine with allowing one ticket per transaction. If they allowed two tickets to be purchased in one transaction, it would have sold out even more quickly. I don't think there a good way to do this that both eliminates mules and satisfies people who want to buy a ticket for themselves and at least one other person.

It's become a bottle pickup only event for me now...Without a DD, or without your own friends/company, I don't want to stay...Usually if I went with my wife, one of us would only have a taster or two before we cut ourselves off for the next two hours so that the other could drink more.

At this point, Barrelworks has never repeated the same system at one of their releases which has been a bit frustrating.. this system makes no sense on many levels (Mule's still gonna mule, more incentive to sell a ticket for profit, bottleshops/buyer are still going to sell bottles illegaly). Since this is the case, and Firestone already admitted this, why penalize the true patron's who support their business by taking any fun out of it? Sorry to say, but this is a fail.

I'm sensing a Devil's Advocate argument here, and that's okay...but IMO this is the worst of both world's. We'll all be drunk leaving, our friends and spouses are pissed cause they missed out, and you'll still see a bottle of Zinskin at your local bottle shop for $30.

Well, they sold out in 40 seconds, to be honest. Those basket dumps weren't really a full 8 minutes of tickets being sold more so than tickets being squatted on till the basket released it back into the wild.

Honestly, at this point it would benefit them to just make it a membership thing. They were toying around with a membership/club for a while. Hell, they even supposedly bottled something to go with it when it was on the table - As if to say that the plan was well on its way on actually happening.

Right of first refusal and lower the bottle limits for membership purchase. Then toss the remaining into the wild like they do the 3L at random weekends in Paso and Barrelworks.

The issue here isn't the bottle count. I think they have been toying around with the attendance numbers to get the right sort of flow going in the barrelworks space. It is, after all, limited in how many heads Jeffers can cram in there.

It's not going to sell out any faster than the last few events (and aside from Feral 1 b2) the last one of last year sold out equally as fast. So it really does depend on the release.

FW just needs to quit changing shit...people have been getting shut out for awhile now and I haven't heard any complaining. FW is bringing this on themselves with a highky flawed system.

That's fair. I don't remember any of the other ones selling out in under a minute or whatever this one took.

I think the membership idea is the best idea. I do wonder what stopped them from doing it. I would have been all over that.
