Don't get me wrong - it was good. However, I was expecting something smooth and bourbon forward. The bourbon didn't come through for me, and it was quite bitter. I have only had the one, so perhaps it was a strange bottle. My beers for comparison are bourbon county, fyodor's, BA narwhal, etc. I love the small bottle format, and will definitely give this a try when I have the chance again. Cheers!

Dinkel Acker Oktoberfestbier Märzen. Not bad for the style! Also, my wireless router is being stupid today. Damn technology! Get off my lawn!

Paulaner Original in its proper drinking vessel--a Masskrug. Next to it is a recent acquisition: an early 1900's Paulaner Mug.

Drinking a Sixpoint Sweet Action. This is a very tasty cream ale. Light bodied, flavorful, moderate hops at 34 IBUs, and very quaffable. Cheers @Sixpoint !

Well, if everyone else on this site can be trusted, this should be quite tasty.

Turns out the masses are right: this is a wonderful beer. The complex flavor profile never seems to get tangled in itself as the many notes work together, each take their turns, and gracefully bow out to let the others have their own time in the limelight. I've seen comparisons to Victory at Sea and it makes sense. They're similar, and both fantastic......but I think this is better.

@Sixpoint and @SixpointJMH, thank you. This is an amazing beer for new BAs like myself: I am still learning to separate different, yet similar, aromas and flavors and this beer is a great lesson for that. Your commitment to availability and providing great value is noteworthy and you've made yet another fan in me.

    Cheers everyone!

STS Pils. (Love the Pig, the Plinys, the -tions, barrel-aged beers, etc, but this is my favorite Russian River beer.)

Southern Tier imperial rum barrel aged Pumking with almost a year in the cellar. This blows away regular Pumking. Hoping this and whatever follows allows me to sleep a bit better with the back out. [IMG]
