No, he isn't. He's returning beer that is infected. Should he hold to a broken product so as not to "abuse a nice gesture"? Give me a break.

Wait.. your telling me three floyds owned up to an infection mistake and made up for it with $70 gift cards?

Hey, I saw that 3 Floyds has Conquistador de Muerte for sale at the kiosk. Any idea how long it will last? Or if it has a good chance of being infected again?

666 bottles. I would give it 2 or 2.5 days to sell out. I'm guessing there is a high probability it is safe because they just went through all the crap for refunding last years, but anything is possible.

Thanks for the information. I won't be able to get there from Milwaukee by then.

I don't suppose anyone local would pick one up for me if I can come down next weekend to get it?

@BeerIsLife11 is referencing how essentially someone going back for multiple $70 gift cards has to lie multiple times to get them. They ask you point blank if you've returned any before. If you haven't they offer you $70 for the inconvenience of driving down. If you have already returned some, they refund the price of the bottle.

Refunding the price of the bottle is a fair gesture. Offering an inconvenience bonus is very generous of them. Exploiting that multiple times is just greedy.

Ahh, ok, my bad. Definitely in the wrong then. I figured FFF finally raised the price of their BA offerings to $70 a bottle when they realized people were willing to pay $50 without issue.

So... I guess the question is, I have a BA Moloko, and a Conquestador, unopened. Should I figure out a way to return them?

Oh, yea, and I live in California. :stuck_out_tongue:

Yea but luckily you can trade those $50 dollar beers for several hundred worth.

Well I guess since all ya'll panties are in a bunch I'll have to explain. When I heard that Floyd D'Rue was infected and FFF was giving refunds I brought it back within a few days and got a refund. A few weeks later, I found they were doing the same for BA Moloko and Conquistidor so I brought both back at the same time. The guy at the kiosk actually told me to take my BA Moloko back home and try it, and if it is infected, bring it back.....so I did. Not screwing the system at all, and not once was asked if I previously returned any bottles in any of the three return visits.

I had a bottle of Floyd D'Rue that I decided I would trade to someone who really wanted to try it instead of getting money, only to find out they turned around and sold back it to FFF for $70. Kinda shitty.

I had a bottle of BA Moloko disappear at a bottle share a few months ago after we found out it was infected. Set it in the corner of the kitchen counter behind a vase and the next morning it was gone. Someone probably wanted that $70 more than I did...

To his credit you traded him a known Infected beer for other beer that you probably wanted more than the $70 refund FFF would have given to you. If I were you I wouldn't have traded it to anyone to begin with. C'est la vie eh?

Was it really 100% infected though? Because plenty of people opened bottles that were not infected, they just didn't like the spices much.

I should also mention that I traded it below cost for basically shelf beers given I knew and the guy on the other end of the trade knew it could be infected.

i believe if these bottles were opened immediately, they were fine. anything past a couple or few months and the reports started rolling in.
i picked up both BA Moloko and Conq. a week after release and drank them 2 days later at a share. we enjoyed them.

    reminisce to the peruvian morning.

I've always hoped that with these barrel aged bottles being released that they would have them on draft at the brewpub. I understand they're small batches but c'mon man!
