    Bitburger for me, please...
@utopiajane you've posted "just a few" Bitburger pics recently to make me believe you love that one, too. :-)

Ditto => Bitburger. There's others that I like better from Germant but they're not very accessible and Bitburger is.

Most of the ones I have tried and liked have been mentioned. I don't believe Czechvar has come up, but that's a decent one in the traditional style. I tried some on draft recently and it was better than when I remembered it from the bottle. Could have been a freshness issue of course.

I know it wasn't requested in the OP, but I can't help but add some stateside takes on the pils: Peak Organic Fresh Cut, Troegs Sunshine, and Berkshire Brewing Pilsner.

+1, especially for this style of beer

I am NOT a pilsner fan AT ALL, but I have tried 1 pilsner that I actually liked...

Peak Organic Brewing - Fresh Cut Pilsner (38 IBU with some nice hops flavor)

He asked for a "traditional" pilsner, one that is preferably non-American.

And you answered with an American pilsner, dry-hopped to the heavens, with a hop profile of Chinook, Citra, and Centennial (the 38 IBUs is deceiving in this one, it's all hops). As @steveh already mentioned, please read the original post first.

But, as an aside...I did enjoy the Peak Organic from the bottle (I just considered it an IPL, not what I would grab if I wanted traditional though). It's a nice hoppy beer...for some reason when I had it on draft it was a mess.

    In that case ^^^^ I have never had a Pilsner that I liked...so I definitely don't have a favorite.

Please don't call them pilsners. It's an insult to legitimate pilsners.

Good Call! My bad. I've had to listen to my boss (at a wholesaler) call them pilsners enough times that sometimes I slip.

Hmm, if hop oil is a concern, you may want to take a pass on either of the Plinys from RR and not bother with many of the beers from Lagunitas.

This is still from Susquehanna BC?

This year’s Southampton Keller Pils is particularly good.

Why take the pass? I just told you I drink Warestiener. It still irks me though. Also, I believe it is just Hop Stoopid that uses hop oil, and I don't drink Hop Stoopid. I don't drink RR either (I live in NY).

    Mr. BeerIsland,

Yes, the bottles of Southampton Keller Pils are produced at SBC.

    Cheers!

Well simple realy. Some people refuse entirely to drink beers made with hop extract, just as some refuse entirely to drink GI because its owned by ABInBev. Some people want to know whats used in their beer. Your comment suggested that you cared if a beer was made with oils/extract so I though you'd like to know of some others. Nothing more complicated than that.

Perhaps, but it sounded as if you just wanted to spout off some knowledge - disregarding what need bot be be deduced, but rather what was stated - which is that I drink Warsteiner. Complicating matters would be telling a NYer that he shouldn't drink a beer local only to those northern California. :grimacing:

I have really only seen PU under 90 days old once in the past 2 years of looking for them fresh, that bothers me a great deal, even when I asked the distributor for fresher product they said its very hard for them to do so.

Plinys are available in Philly which is a comfortably close distance to NYC for some and we often see New Yorkers here at PtY release time. And it isn't obvious to a casual observer that you are not a participant in the trading forum where people find it relatively easy to obtain PtE, especial people who have easy access to some of the New York area beers.

But my apologies for having tried to be helpful. I'll make note not to do so in the future.

Telling me to "not bother" with all Lagunitas beers was not helpful. Enjoy your evening and your beer

This is the first time I have found Pilsner Urquell this fresh (e.g., around 90 days).

    Cheers!
