Sixpoint 4Beans Imperial Porter

Looks like I'll miss this one. I know the Sixpoint beer app shows distribution to TX and AR. However, Texas is a 7 hour drive one way. I work six days a week, so that's out. I called six stores in AR from Fayetteville to Bentonville. Several beer managers told me that they didn't see it on their shipments list, and a couple more told me they couldn't get it. I expect that from smaller stores, but most of these are my go to stores in AR, so I don't get it.

Oh, well, I'll just have to wait for the Tallgrass Explorer Series to hit Kansas and Oklahoma. That's what I like about the current beer scene, there's always great beer to be found somewhere.

 

Finally got a chance to try 4beans. Thanks @Sixpoint Shane you an the crew outdid yourselves with this one. By far the best beer from sixpiint I've tried yet. Glad my Dist finally hooked me up (not like the jammer problem) Putting a display out of all your core beers w/ the 4beans in the coming week. Thanks again man. Keep it up

Btw I've had trouble getting my tastes back after being in Cambodia / Vietnam I just finished a 4pk I started about 1.5 hour ago and have to say IM BACK

 

Just got back home from a trip on the Oregon coast. I made sure to see the crew at Belmont station on the way home. Picked up a 4-pack. Cracked one tonight. Really enjoying it. I got some BP victory at sea in my beer fridge, so I will have to do a side by side. Will be tough to pick a winner. (My initial feeling - can't go wrong with either one).

 

Picked up a single on the way home from work yesterday. Tried it, loved it, went back for a 4-pack. Incredible beer, @Sixpoint !

Still waiting for this up in northeastern MA, hoping I get a call from my shop soon. Any other MA residents seeing it yet?

 

Anybody see this in Ohio yet? Columbus? My beerfinder app has died... I assume due to overwhelming user volume seeking 4beans...

 

Has anyone seen this in southern Alabama or Florida panhandle? Or am I too late?

 

It hit Cleveland and other parts of Ohio last week, but I can't speak for Columbus..

@Sixpoint thanks for getting me in touch with Jon. He let me know where the distributors would be hitting and I finally got my hands on some. I am glad I grabbed two 4 packs and I may be going back for a couple more to stash away for this winter.

 

This beer tasted like alcoholic espresso.

 

Wow! And I thought I got a steal at $10.99.

 

$13.99 at Julio's in Westboro. A solid 40% more expensive than the rest of the Sixpoint portfolio...yikes. Fantastic beer, though!

Just out of curiosity, what is it about high ABV beers that typically necessitate a higher price point? I'm not into home brewing (yet) so I'm not sure if there's extra labor involved, etc.?

 

I live in Lancaster Co. and it has not been easy for me to track this down, lots of uh....we don't know. I touched base with my local wholesaler who said they had it, but then when my local distro got their order they were told that they would release it when THEY wanted to. Frustrating for me and my distro. After reading all these posts I am drooling for 4Beans!...
