Chances are very good. Got there at around 11 pm last year and had no trouble despite the people that showed up in the morning and cut in line.

You had to get there pretty early last year to get a spot in line that would secure a wristband. You can always be a dick and budge in line, but if you get there at midnight you probably won't get wristbands. I think the cutoff was around 9 or 10 pm?

If you can get there earlier, the bottle shares are where it's at!

You can always avoid the crowds of fat slobs with beards and just pick some up with ease when bottles are released to liquor stores the week after

If you come at midnight and get shut out you can have all but one of my bottles at cost.

I've heard people say they got there at 9 pm and didn't get wristbands and I've heard people say they walked up at 6am and got them so I have no idea why last year was weird. We got there around 10:30, had camp set up by 11:00 and when they condensed the line in the morning we just stayed next to the people next to us and no one had any issue getting a band. We were later in the day for pickup, I think like 2-3.

For someone who hates beer people you sure choose a weird website to frequent. Maybe you'd be happier in a golf forum where you can assume everyone is clean-shaven and wearing a collar.

Hey man, I drink plenty of good craft beer (especially now that so many are in cans) while on the course.

Super generous of you! Really appreciate that. We plan on coming either way, bringing some local goodies as well as a selection of bottles from my recent Portland trip to share. If we get shut out I may take you up on one or two bottles. The event sounds amazing!

in my opinion the only people that showed up at 9PM and didn't get a wristband had to be people that were not paying attention when the line formed or were super drunk or something. I was hanging around the line there when they ran out and asked a few folks about when they arrived. All were in the morning 6-7AM.

Is it too early to start the petition to Surly to do something to ensure people walking in that morning don't just jump into the line when they start having everyone break down their camp sites and start condensing the line? Maybe have a few extra volunteers stand in the middle of the street to ensure no one crosses? I watched the six people behind me all jump across the street while that was happening. Sat in line until about 10:00 am only to be about 20-30 back from Omar when the cutoff happened. Guess who still got bottles?

this is a good suggestion... even some sort of night before wristband or something to signify those folks who were there. That said I really haven't had an issue so far.

Getting there at midnight would 100% have guaranteed you Darkness every single release.

There was, as someone alluded to, some line-management issues in 2014. We had friends show up at 6AM this year (& every previous year, give or take an hour or so) & get wristbands. Even given the weird line collapse, I can't imagine why anyone who showed up before midnight didn't get their allocation...aside from drunkenly sleeping through your alarm. Which is an ever-present danger on D-Day morning.

Let's not begin the panic in August. Getting their at midnight is plenty early.

I showed up at 5 pm the day before. Had a great time at the share and went to bed early. Got up at 530 and dropped the tent. Got in line around 630 for wristbands. My friend and I even got a thumbs up from the clicker dude counting before the wristband guys came around. Got to within 50 feet of the front and BAM. No more wristbands. Screw the budgers.

Midnight? For sure. Just make sure to get up early, and judge how the line is working. Early AM arrivals, 5-6am can be more tricky. Depends on the weather. If it's nice, good luck, if it's chilly, you have a better shot. People showed up at 7 two years ago and got wrist bands.

Didn't people show up basically at gate opening for the event and still get wrist bands 2 years ago?
