Not if he sold it. If he sold it he is a business man.

What's so dumb about this is that a more modest gouge would have made some quick $$; I've never seen Ghandi Bot in cans before (I'm rarely in CT), so I would have paid ~$22 for a four-pack like an idiot. But at $30/per, it's going to sit to the point of being too old to sell.

But yeah, as others have said, price stuff fair and it will sell fast.

I have a local store that I go to, I always buy when they get the "good" stuff, but I also go when I need a 6 pack for the golf course, etc. The owner knows me, the employees know me, I never ask to be called. Sometimes I will walk in, knowing there has been deliveries of SoS thanks to this forum, and I will be sure to buy a 6 pack of something else, too.

Because of this, he lets me know that "Gandhi" or "Lunch" or whatever else, "may" be on the way. Never once has the price been ridiculous. The most important part: the beer isn't hidden. It is out there, just waiting to be picked up.

I wish all stores were like this. A friend of mine once went to a store that had "Gandhi" and the owner was reluctant to sell it to him! WTF?

I used to get a ton of ghandi and a shit ton of sea hag where i live about 2 years ago (upstate ny). Im saying like mutiple cases of sea hag would sit for months on the shelves. But i get it, the CT beer scene caught up and NEBCO needs to keep the local accounts happy....cases atop cases of stout trooper

i agree its all about finding the right store and not making them feel like your only there for the good stuff. i have a spot i go to for all my liquor and i buy bourbon, wine and beer from there. Crew is awesome and i go to get random 6 packs, when we have people over or hosting a holiday we buy everything from them. All of the guys know when i walk in its bc im buying something. I dont have to ask any more they just bring me the cans, but along with that i always buy something else.

I too wish all stores were like this, its pretty ridiculous now. One store wanted to charge me 24.99 for a 4 pack of ghandi AND i didnt even ask for it. I stopped randomly on my way home bc i needed some sea hag. walk in , pick up 3 six packs for the weekend cook out and the owner looks at me for a second before ringing it up and said i will give you ghandi if you put one of these back. He said they use to get 5 cases now they get 1 so he limits it to one 6 per customer so more people can have some. i said ok how much then he pulled 24.99, F-you! i said no just give me the 3 sea hags thanks.

at another shop up the street from my house, i stopped in for some sea hag and they were out owner asked me if he could help so i had known cpt. daughter was just out few days before.. i asked he didnt respond right away then said i will sell you if you buy something else, i said no WAY immediately and laughed then he gave me the rant about how its hard to get blah blah. F these places. Its simple, if you offer me what i ask for with no strings i will come back to your store and shop.

yea , i miss those days. even in CT i live about 10 mins from the brewery i would go home with a case of ghandi on a regular basis. it was a shelf beer for a very long time. now , stores hide it and wont sell a 4 pack only 2 cans per person. So i havent had ghandi in a can in over a year.

NEBCO used to be plentiful in the Capital Region. As you mentioned, Bot, Hag, IST, and draft lines too. Sadly, also as you mentioned, they had to draw back to keep up with their home market.

At the Brewery today. 4 packs of Gandhi for $10! FRESH! Apparently they are running through all the remaining cans. Good for them!

They're not sold out forever, just today. They will have a few more runs of the Gandhi cans available at the brewery.

You should be boycotting these stores outright.
