I would rather have any Bourbon County variant than anything from Toppling Goliath.

Once you are up and running, you will definitely be the closest brewery to me, so I am looking forward to your opening. In the meantime, is there anywhere you will be holding tastings so we can get a sneak peak of what we can expect from Cellar Works.

To be fair, Bourbon County's variants are really really really good. :grinning:

Yeah the building is off of 356 in Sarver. It's a 4500 Sq ft space that has had a number of interesting past lives including an indoor swimming pool, a supermarket, and a beer distributor. We are addressing our final (hopefully) rounds of drawing comments and should be getting our building permit soon.

We've a lot of hiking planned, but at some point we'll most likely visit both the market and the brewery, if only just to complain. If you see a scrum of guys, one with either a Duquesne or Surly Goat ball cap on, don't hesitate to say "hello."

We have none set in stone as we are very busy with permits and licensure, but hope to have some sneak peak events prior to opening the doors.

I'll be checking out the beer related places Saturday at some point so I'll keep an eye peeled. That's funny that you're going to be down here the same weekend as me, as I haven't been to Deep Creek in like 10 years.

Like SpineLCord said, keep us updated as to when you'll be selling / pouring product this year. I look forward to trying your beer.

I was actually going to post up to try and trade some bellwoods special releases for some PGH or other US beers, the problem is I would need a receipt for the traded beers because I'll be in the US for less than 48 hours, and the Canadian border guards really like to have their way when it comes to not having proper receipts. It's a shame.

Haven't had any of their stouts, only hops. King Sue was very, very good but still definitively below HF Double Citra for a beer of the same vein. Pseudo Sue was as average as it gets. Gimme a CPA any day.

Used to go like five days a week to ski, but haven't been in too many years at this point (my skis aren't even parabolic); now it's every two or three years. Think I recall about several years ago, a now-closed brewery, something with "bear" in it--not sure if it was related to the Black Bear lodge or not. Didn't last long.

Was hoping to grab a case of something fantastic in the 'burgh before hearing down there, but last night when I looked (Duffy's and Banksville) I didn't find anything that suited my fancy. GE does have 15 packs of All Day for $18, which might serve as a proper hiking beer.

If not they should have just lined the barrels up on the sidewalk and busted them all with an axe, prohibition style IMNSHO.

Larger quantity this time? It seemed like you brewed a lot more of MOMO than CPA.

Welcome. I think the thread Pittburgh 2.0 is good to go for a while haha, I think we solved some of our issues.....maybe....either way....there will probably be a Pittsburgh 3.0 if not.

We brewed the same quantity of Momo as CPA. We brew 7BBL batches of every beer, besides the Prototype Series.

I used to go every year. Last time I was there was maybe a year and a half ago ??...and if it's the same place I'm thinking of, that Market isn't half bad at all. When Hoptimum first came out a buncha years back (in bombers), they had fresh bottles on the shelves. And there were other solid options available every time I went in the years that followed. Can't speak to prices or anything, but I was pleasantly surprised with that place.

I am in the same boat as @kbuzz as I used to go down a lot but have not been there in about a year and half. The market I am thinking of always had a decent selection and I was able to grab Sucuba one time. They do not sell alcohol on Sundays if I recall correctly, so I always found that odd. Stock up on what you need on Friday or Saturday if down for the weekend.
