Anyone seen 4beans in or around the Alexandria VA area?

Yep, he told me this last night at the Smoke & Barrel event. Said they'd brew it more often if they could get the hops with any regularity, but there are plans to brew it again. He also said that they currently have a barleywine aging in bourbon barrels that they're planning to bottle and release at their 1st Anniversary party next year!

Do we need another thread for DC/NOVA/MD beer discussion and one for releases? We haven't talked about releases in a good while, and the topic has changed quite a bit. I felt like the Month specific threads were working well.

Dominion in Falls Church had 4Beans last week and was supposed to get more this week. I think the Total Wines have received it as well.

I had some this past weekend. It's good, but I didn't think it was as good as hyped.

Yea, Dominion was getting more in so they should have plenty. Am I missing something with this beer? I thought it was pretty bad TBH. I like Sixpoint, but 4beans has a super strange aftertaste. Very acidic to the point it tastes chemical.

TW McLean had ~10 cases of 4beans earlier this week.

IMO it is solid. But yeah, agreed not as good as some have hyped.

Yep. Lost Dog over on N. Henry Street has four packs of it as of this morning. I'd imagine that Total Wine and Whole Foods have it, too.

It's hard to get too excited about 4beans when Cafe Royale is still around, but i did like 3beans.

I am enjoying the tangents. We will be discussing new releases when there are some to discuss. I don't have anything to discuss about the Shipyard Smashed Pumpkin and Hofbrau Oktoberfest.

I had it last night at the Smoke & Barrel event. I thought it was quite good, but was clearly 3rd among it, Home* and Truth or Consequence. Truth or Consequence was quite good, but I thought Kiss the Sky was a little on the sweet side.

Glad I could help you laugh! I hope you're around nextime I make an error otherwise it might go unnoticed. I hope your lager pour has some extra DMS in it tonight.

Arrowine in Arlington got Evil Twin Cognac Jesus today. Looks like $25 per. Don't know if it's still there, but I'm sure they're not the only place in town receiving it.
