10% DIPA in a pounder? I'm game. Keep ya warm on those chilly autumn nights!

Most breweries are interested in the "profit strategy" no matter how disinterested they act.

I'm game. I didn't mind the rebel, and rouser was pretty good actually. Nothing earth shattering, but a bit better than I anticipated. The session IPA was horrid hop water though.

I wonder if this beer is a result of Megan Parisi's arrival. Does she focus on hoppy beers? She made that short stop at Wormtown then on to SA most recently

That's being said Rouser is a solid beer. No frills DIPA, true to style. Been hoping SA would can it. With Raw on the way I will be happy. A well priced, good, and available DIPA in 16o can! Looks like SA wants to put LHBCO in its place.

SA beers started my craft beer love. They will never be out of my rotation.

I for one will not buy this. I've never been a fan of any of the rebel beers and the need to point out how hazy and hoppy it is seems gimmicky and desperate. If it was priced lower then enjoy by or some of the offerings that I know are solid, or if I could snag a single then maybe but I highly doubt it will be.

I haven't tried Rebel Rider or Rebel Rouser, but I think the regular Rebel is decent. I've gotta say that if I see this one in the store I'm definitely gonna try it...a 10% DIPA in cans that will be reasonably priced is a must try IMO

If this means there's a solid, low to moderately priced DIPA I can get at almost any area restaurant soon, why complain? I'm sure I'll give it a go at some point.

Don't kid yourself into believing that craft is always for the love of craft. Trends occur up, down, left and east. It's almost always about turning a dollar.

Wow looking forward to this. I was pleasantly surprised by the rebel beers. I did a side by side of rebel and Lagunitas ipa. Lagunitas wins for aroma but Rebel won on taste.

What? Enjoy By is $10 a bomber, I'm 99% positive Rebel Raw will be cheaper.

10% ABV is getting into triple IPA territory. I don't see the IBUs posted on the can. Hopefully it's high enough to balance that ABV.

My immediate thoughts as well. A renowned reluctant IPA brewery throwing out a massive hazy beer? Yep, time to cash in on the NE DIPA craze. But hey, if it's a quality beer than bring it on I say. As much as I'd love to have opportunity to tap into Alchemist, Other Half, Trillium and Lawson's on a daily basis, if I can effortlessly roll into Kroger and get something that's just a few notches below literally any day of the week, than I see a win.

Can't see it dipping into the popularity of the other breweries and in fact, for the cost it will take to make it, I can see this falling into craft beer no man's land. Too extreme for fringe craft drinkers and overly snubbed by craft "aristocrats". Plus, if it doesn't initially fly off the shelves than it won't move at all since fresh is going to be this thing's saving grace.

Umm, maybe we should try it before trashing it? Just saying....

The only one I've tried is the regular Rebel IPA and I was not moved by it. I haven't tried the others but am actually intrigued to try this one because of the dank, unfiltered possibilities.

Apparently they're filling growlers out of the "brewery" in Boston, my brother managed to snag one for me.
Before I even lay into the beer I'm gonna rip them on their growler filling procedure. Instead of simply doing them to order they pre-fill them and wait for them to be sold which I wouldn't have a problem with but they don't totally fill the things. Forget capping on foam, this thing wasn't even filled to the 64oz line, it was only filled to the shoulder of the bottle. Still a fairly new practice for them but they have one of the fancy autofillers like Harpoon so no excuses.
As for the beer it was easily the worst of the rebel series. Big, overly bitter, and one dimensional. Straight pine - no fruit, no other herbal characteristics, just straight pine. Like a dry gin more than a beer. Wasn't expecting much from this one but was hoping it could at least stand side by side with the rouser, unsurprisingly disappointed.
