Anyone visit roundabout yesterday and able to report on what, if any, IPAs are available?

Looks like Nimble Giant dropped today; from Troegs FB page:

Nimble Giant intimidates the palate with spicy grapefruit rind, juicy passion fruit, pungent pine sap, and earthy forest floor. And take heed, because this behemoth is stealthy for his size. If we were to build our own Nimble Giant, he’d likely stand 9-feet tall and weigh in at 690 lbs. In beer terms, that’s about 9% ABV and 69 IBU… gigantic in every sense of the word! Availability: cases, 6-packs, draft & growler fills.

Wouldn't mind a case of that and another of the Hop Knife.

MD shadyside tweeted a pic of Great Divide 21st anniversary sour.

I'm really excited for the CPA to be available again here in about a month or so. Speaking of this beer reminds me of RblWthACoz, as I met him down at Brew Gentlemen the last time they had this on tap. He's been MIA for quite a while now.

I PM'd him about 2 weeks ago. He never even opened it which means has hasn't logged in in a while. Met him 2-3 times but never had the chance to have a beer with him.

I got beers with him a few times. He was definitely a cool guy. The last I communicated with him he responded on July 5th to a message that I sent him back in mid-June. I sent him a follow-up message and like yours, he never opened it.

I havent filled any growlers around town for a while, and I know the rules regarding them have loosened a bit. My question is are there any breweries around town that WILL NOT fill any growler? Also does everyone now fill 32oz growlers?

Fat Heads IBUsive is a reasonable $17 growler fill and is great this year.

Pretty sure most do, can't think of anyone that doesn't do 32 oz.

I assume that means it's kettle soured?

I always take 2 32s just in case they don't. But I think everyone except GE does.

I thought high alpha acid content was the enemy of most souring bacteria...?

Yeah we are kettle souring with a lacto blend, takes about 16 hours to get the desired pH (3.4) and then we are hopping it with all flame out additions and dry hopping it at as well.

Highly recommend giving our Berliner a shot if you haven't yet. We are also tapping a pin of it dry hopped with Apollo this coming Wednesday at 6PM. That will give you a sense of what to expect with this "American Sour".

Sounds interesting. I assume this will be a little bigger than a Berliner, and the oats and spelt will provide some body?

Absolutely although it won't be too big, expecting about 5.8% ABV. Hoping for a bit more body and better head retention with the Oats and Spelt addition, also hoping just a bit more bread character to stand up against the acidity and hop profile.

Fermenting with 001, wish we could do Brett but our Tanks do not have sanitary welds.

How much head retention can really be expected with the acidity from the lacto present??

...I wouldn't beat yourself up over that one...
