It's hard to choose one, but I voted for Citra, but I'd pick em all if I could. So many great IPAs out there that showcase or blend the above mentioned hops in such different ways. That's what makes beer so fun to drink - especially IPAs and DIPAs.

Voted Citra, really can't get enough of em. With that said, I've been enjoying a lot of the Nelson hopped beers I've had recently. I feel like from reading through these posts, Nelson may be 3rd or 4th on the list if included

Went with Citra as #1, but Centennial is a very close second.

Not super surprised that "tropical" hops are winning the day here. I think if Nelson was included, it'd be in the top 3 or so. Hey, the people have spoken!

Would be interesting to run the exact same poll in a couple years to see if folks' hop palates have shifted.

Simcoe and Citra tied. Thank you for excluding Summit. Yuck.

Between Nelson, Mosiac and Galaxy....I'd have to go with Nelson. Very close 2nd is Mosiac and honorable mention goes to Galaxy.

Which IPAs do you gravitate toward when you are in the mood for one? IPAs are not my favourite style, and I am still looking for a go-to IPA (I doubt I'll find one, I've already had more examples than any other style).

It's been a lot of growlers of local ones mixed in with old standbys lately for me. I'm having a fresh Stone IPA (30 days) right now, and I'm loving it- it's doubtful if you could get it that fresh, but if you could I'd definitely recommend it. It's bright and citrusy, borderline floral, and boldly bitter. It's a Centennial hop IPA- another great one of those is Bell's Two Hearted, more floral and balanced.

For the more tropical style I enjoy Victory Dirt Wolf and Lagunitas Hop Stoopid/Lagunitas Maximus.

Honestly, though, when I'm at the store I let the freshness decide what I will buy more than anything else when I'm IPA shopping. That tends to mix things up a bit and keep it interesting. Hopefully you start to have that luxury in Canada with IPAs soon enough, it's really the best way to do it.

Mosaic. I used to say Citra, but lately people have been making it soooo damn bitter. I would have picked Nelson if it were an actual option.

We just got Sierra Nevada Pale Ale, Brewdog's Punk IPA and Stone IPA. The Stone IPA I had a few days ago was fantastic, but although it took 3 days to go from Stone to the warehouse, it took 2 months to go to shelves! We used to have Founder's Centennial IPA and Green Flash's West Coast IPA. For the most part, Great Lakes Brewery's stuff (Toronto) is comparable to Stone and Two Hearted. I will definitely try Dirt Wolf next time I go to Buffalo. This recommendation sounds promising. Storm King is possibly my favourite stout.

I voted for Citra.... But let us never, ever, ever forget what the noble, austere Chinook hop has, and continues to do for us...... That piney goodness that so many of us love.
