?

If all styles were the same ABV, what percentage would you want?

Give me an exceptional IPA at 8% and I'm happier than a pig in (you know the rest). Cheers.

I like to drink multiple beers and NOT blackout. 5% is ideal for me.

The bulk of what I drink is anywhere from 4% to 8% but 6.5% or 7% would be a nice sweet spot

7-8% for me. Maybe I'm in the minority, but I'd rather drink 2 or 3 7% beers at a given time instead of 5 or 6 4% beers. I'm not gonna lie, part of having a good beer or three is the buzz and that's easier to achieve (for me) with higher ABV beers as opposed to session beers. That's just my opinion however...

I agree completely. Most of the time I crave a 8-9% beer, a couple pints and I’m good. 7% beers, even the respected ones, are just short of that full-flavored taste I love and anything below that is watery to me.

0%. I wish that beer could have the exact same flavor without the alcohol so I could drink as much as I wanted and not worry about a DD, hangover and any other health hazards related to alcohol....but this is a pipe dream so I guess I'll just go back to drinking beer like a responsible adult with the occasional splurge.

7 to 8. Not too much that more than one at a time would be a problem for me.

I was torn between 7 and 8, but went with 8

Some people seem to not be getting this thread..

all things equal, what ABV would you want? Assume a 4% beer could taste like a 12% imperial stout does now. I just made this thread to basically see how much people really drink beer for the buzz.

I like to catch a buzz before I get too full...8% will usually do the trick

7.5% is perfect for me, or near there. Perfect examples are A Lil Sumpin Sumpin, Ruination 1.0, Damnation. You can have two in a hurry (as i did with the lagunitas late last night) and not worry about the effects later or in the morning.

I may not be in the norm with this one, but I enjoy stouts that (on average) are ~10%.

A fully carbonated ABV 5.0% +/- .2% works for me. Any more ABV and its a waste of alcohol. and any less is a waste of beer.

ABV is just a part of my beer enjoyment, however, I tend to go for the higher ABV brews, as their flavor is so much more intense. Particularly Belgians and DIPAs.

    I went with 8%.

If I'm paying 11 or 12 bucks for a 6pk, then it better do the trick. I'd rather drink 4-6 of something with a higher %, than 9 or 10 of something 4%

About 4 % . I could drink many and still get trousered if I put in a bit of effort.

I chose 7%. Its a good comfortable spot for me.

BUT, if its was possible to produce beer with no alcohol that tasted exactly like its alcoholic counterparts, I would drink that.
