So I know most of us are fans of Vintage Estate. I've been a pretty big fan since the 1st time I went despite the fact I don't get up there often....it's in Ohio. When I heard Jackie O's was bottling Oro Negro, I sent them a message on Facebook to see if they were getting any. I got the standard "We are supposed to but have no idea when" response. So about 2 weeks later, I get a private message from the owner saying: "Hi Mike, we were able to track down a few bottles of Oro Negro and I saved you a bottle!" I went up there today and the bottle was sitting on the bar with my name on it. So as if an awesome selection and fairly reasonable prices weren't enough, I now have another reason to go there. Definitely a business worth supporting.

 

That's awesome customer service. I wish I could make my way up there more often.

 

With light pouring into the bottle??!? How long was that shit sitting there? Fuck that...they sold you damaged goods...



Did you try it? Heard it's thinner and not as hot as previous batches (did I hear that in this thread? )

 

Didn't crack it yet but I will soon. As I recall, it had a great body and a decent burn to it. I loved it.

 

Are you recalling that from former batches or this batch?

 

Previous batches. The one from the growler poured at the Beerhive share last year

 

So, I will be in town for the 49ers/ steelers game next month. I'd like to check out the local offerings. What are some of the better beer bars in which I can try everything pittsburgh/east coast?

 

The customer focus at Jackie O's is top notch! My favorite releases have been at JO, as the owners really put themselves in the place of the customer.
