I was wondering this actually yesterday...How many bottles do they go through at the GToMW?!

(This is more or less a hypothetical, I know it's impossible to answer)

I get a kick out of people where 2 per person ain't enough. Was there during the Vintage 2014 release with my wife. Rightfully showed up on Saturday and Sunday, and were more than pleased with the 8 we got (for ourselves). Had 1 in their beautiful courtyard (as well as a few other NG R&D specialties+). Could've likely ran through the line several times but more than happy , even with a single passing each of the days we were there. Guess we're more happy with the act of fairness. And happy to see and meet so many who are enjoying these releases as we are. See some of you in October

I wish I knew what "fair" even means.

Fair is abiding by the rules that New Glarus set: two bottles per person, per day, no exceptions, no mules.

So is there a reason the name was changed on here from wild barrel to bramble berry bourbon barrel?

With NG it's a crapshoot since they themselves publish/state multiple names. Probably luck of the draw, something along the lines of that's what most in the trading forum are calling it and that one had more reviews or something. Maybe a mod can answer this.

"Very Sour Blackberry" is in here as such, but it was not called that on the bottle. It was "Sour Fruit" instead.

That's what I was thinking but it seems like all the others now are called what they say on the bottle. Even vsb is sour fruit (very sour blackberry). Although I can only speak for the 5 I have or have had.

I don't think anything I would have said would have convinced them that was an inappropriate thing to do considering it was offered up in casual conversation and they were clearly proud of it. Also, no line for Proprietor's meant I had different priorities at the time.

On the label "Wild Barrel" is the style (not the name), and the notes refer to it by name as "Bramble Berry Bourbon Barrel".

I think it was harder with the earlier R&D releases because there's no clear name on the label.

This does assume that the "38 bbl" refers to the size of the finished batch. Looking back at the other R&D releases, "Batch" seems just as likely to be referring to where it came from within NG's setup (e.g. on Wild Peach it says "Cave 2"), so "38 bbl" could refer to quantity or it could refer to (for example) a 38-barrel vessel in the fruit cave.

    Just a thought.

Wow, maybe there is a chance!! I tried calling the brewery a few days ago but couldn't get through. I will try again. Thank you for the reply!

Could 38 refer to the # of bourbon barrels used to age the beer?

@Chibeerguy1 let me know if you can't get a hold of anybody. I've got a solid connection that works there that I can call to help you out.
    Cheers!

Thank you @dmbforever and @ChicagoNick I talked to a very nice girl named Melissa at the brewery who was able to not only find my hoodie, but she offered to ship it to me for free! I cant say enough amazing things about New Glarus as it is, but they are also some of the nicest people I have ever met.
