Vietnamese Coffee Speedway Stout to go on sale both Thursday the 20th and the following Thursday the 27th inside the Alesmith Observation room.

It's not AleSmith's BA version of the VC Speedway Stout but still a solid beer. They will be sold as 750ml and although I could not find the exact price, I'd imagine it will be in the 15 low end to 20 dollar high end range.

Would like to see some of your past experiences with VC, "arguably" their best version of the Speedway Stout.

    Cheers everyone!

I've had regular and the BA version. I would like to try this one as people say it is the best of the bunch. Trillium for days if anyone has an extra or 2.

So this is not the right time to say that I had been drinking this off draft for almost 5 weeks until they finally pulled it off last week to put on BASS'15?

Yeah, Viet has been on draft in nice 8oz pours for $4 for a couple of weeks now. Oh man. I'm going to this just to say Velvet isn't THAT good and FO is better.

Though 2 bottles of Viet is a nice bonus. I always liked that one better than BA anyway.

How long do these bottles last, I will be down in the area this week, but might not be able to get to AleSmith until Friday to pick up BASS.

Totally agree, the regular VSS is probably my favorite speedway to date. Haven't tried Velvet or Kopi tho, maybe one day....

This is the first time they have done in-person bottle sales in many many years but I wouldn't be surprised if they do not make it past thursday. They have 2 pallets (if I overheard correctly) but they are separated between both of the thursdays (20th and 27th) and once they run through the allotment on the 20th, that is it until the following week.

    Good stuff on tap though.

Again if anyone is only picking up 1 bottle but is willing to pick up two, I am looking for one.

It may just be in my head but the last thing I want to drink when it's 100 degrees outside is a 12% stout.

When it's 100 degrees outside, it is about 110 degrees in the old tasting room. The temporary tasting room at the new place is nicely air conditioned, though.

I'm coming into town the weekend of the 28th... Any chance this will still be around?

I'd be surprised if they last the few hours. Allocation is being split between the 20th and 27th. I honestly don't think it'll last till the next day

A "pallet full" per day is what I was told. General napkin math after a couple speedways put it at close to 1600 bottles each day.
