Evil Twin - Pappy's Even More Jesus

I'm also fairly certain that the Pappy is just going to Torst, same with Pappy Biscotti. Westbrook brewed this as they did DBJ and cognac and I think they only had 3 pappy barrels total (jesus, biscotti, and cake). A single barrel only nets what, 200 bottles or less? Then you fill one or 2 small kegs for festivals and you don't have much to go around.

DBJ is awesome though, 6 months after bottling is the sweet spot for it. Probably one of the best BA stouts I've had.

Pappy Jesus, Pappy Biscotti Break - these have gotta be good... not so motivated by the Cognac edition, but I wouldn't pass up on any if I saw 'em.

 

I'll report back shortly after I crack my cognac. I think it's going to be a winner!

The "Barrel Aged Mikkeller Black Hole Cognac Edition" is superior...I will be on the lookout for Evil Twins Cognac variation of Jesus

 

I wonder how many people here can tell the difference between Pappy and Buffalo Trace?

 

A few people checked into this on untappd last night at Torst - any idea what the deal is?

 

I have no clue, but the photos on Untappd appear to feature actual Pappy's Even More Jesus bottles, with beer in a glass, alongside a Torst menu. Unless someone is really trying to go out of their way here, I have to imagine those are authentic photos of Pappy's Even More Jesus in the wild, so I guess it's been released at Torst for real. My guess is that they had bottles for sale for onsite consumption.

Perhaps someone who was there could pop in with more details.

 

I just called up Torst, and here's the story. They have Pappy's Jesus and IBB as well as Cognac Jesus and DB Jesus bottles available for in-house consumption, $40 each. The majority of the production was distributed to Torst, while the remainder is available only at Evil Twin events.

If anybody wants to hit that up later and share a few, I would definitely be down.

 

Thanks for confirming those details. So, $40 each for all four beers? So, sales of Pappy's are being treated the same as DBJ and Cognac? That's interesting. And quite a good bar price, if you ask me, considering the retail price for BBA IBB and DBJ.

Seriously, though. I would love to hit Torst after work, and I work late, so I would probably get there between 9-10. Anybody want to split 2 bottles?

Double Barrel Jesus is so awesome, I'm fairly content myself that I don't feel the need to go hunting for this Pappy's stuff. When this thread first popped up, there was no mention of DBJ at the time and I had originally thought the Pappy was going to replace DBJ. I'm very pleased to see that was not the case.

 

That being said, someone take this BA up on the offer!
