I am pretty sure it wasn't a "Beer Camp" trip to Deep Creek. I recognized one of the guys from a beer dinner I had attended, and he showed me where his name was on the wall under the "Beer Camp" section. So I don't think you need to take anything up with management - LOL

Gotcha. Forgot they call the wall Beer Camp too--usually associate this moniker with the drunken misfits that often meet there to BS and share bottles.

Dang you Yinzers tore through that 2011 BBVD. Homestead just posted they are out of it! Glad I got it in Meadville when I did.

... Shit, I may be off for that actually. Finally taking a weekend off for Comic Con then. Is that a reservation based thing or just show up and grab a seat if available?

Yeah the more I've gone the more the selection has started to look more "standard" for a bottle shop of that type. Like the selection doesn't blow away the House but the prices do so that's the appeal. Hence why I name dropped Lizardville earlier because they have the selection and pretty close to the prices of VE and you can always find stuff like, say, Revolution's BA stuff on hand or bottles of Fantomex and they load up on Bruery stuff heavier so you can almost always find anything by them on shelf while VE usually has scattershot product from them, etc. Downside though, you have to go all the way to Cleveland, but since my job or a concert usually takes me up there twice a year that's not terrible. But I still do love VE's ambiance and the food thin crusts are really good so I find it worth the 35 minute drive for me still.

It's a line-up at the door at 9 AM type thing, if I remember correctly.

Yup I got there about 45-60 min before open last year and had a great spot in line. Really fun event and perfect for killing hangovers!

Going to make a meet up one day soon, but not this one, due to scheduling conflict.

Has anyone had a recent vintage of East End's Homewood Reserve? It seems like there was some infection of sorts, which may have skewed the ratings. I was thinking of picking some up.

Homewood Reserve is always a risk. Haven't had it in a couple years, but I got a distinct magic marker/sharpie thing going on in back to back vintages prior to giving up on it...

Had a bottle of '13 or so...somewhere around then. Was brutal. I choked it down but never again. Infected to high hell.

Did the Sunday night Hitchhiker bottle share happen, or did we backburner it for a bit? If it didn't, I can more aggressively work to set up something at my place in the South Hills in the near future.

I wanted to do a Sunday before Labor Day share. @jagoffyinzer couldn't host because he's whipped and it's his fiancee's birthday. I BM'd @brewgentlemen and he referred me to his FOH manager. I emailed him a week ago today and crickets. I'm following up now. Thanks for the reminder.

I picked one up when they did the last release along with Old Knobby/Nebby but I've not opened it yet. A little afraid to, TBH.
