FUNK'D @ el Bait Shop 8/22

Final list is up for El Bait Shop's draft/bottles! bit.ly/funkd2015 Very excited to have Cantillon Classic Gueuze on draft while it lasts!

We've had a few new folks join in and sadly a couple drop out (yes, the Love Child 1+2 dropped, but was replaced with another LC2 ... thx to I presume BrettHead!)

If any other BA folks want in on #WTWBA drop me a note and I'll see if I can squeeze you in with great bottles.

 

I knew framboozie would show up! And Hommage was no slouch at last year's funk'd!

Tilquin Mure, squared and a bunch of Crooked Stave stuff as well. This Saturday is going to be a ton of fun.

 

Super happy to have grabbed a spot for Danny the beer manager at Mall of the Bluffs Hy-vee in Council Bluffs. He keeps us Omaha guys awash in those @AbuNawasBeverage beers we crave!

Didn't get a hotel room for Funk'd last year. Didn't make that mistake again.

 

Woot woot! We'll be at Zwanze Elkader too (again) so let's have a good time Saturday and continue next month!

@AbuNawasBeverage huge friend and supporter. Frederique doing a great job and a prime reason we are in Iowa multiple times each year now.

Keep the dialog up folks. This is a group effort and will (again) be a great event.

 

Seriously though, not to go too far off track:

But...Schera's Jester King beer dinner (and bottle purchases!), Great Taste of the Midwest 2015, 2nd Annual Funk'd event, MD release (C&C Bottle Share/Event), Zwanze Day 2015. It's a pretty incredible run happening.

And the notion "What do you bums in Iowa do exactly?!" still rings loud from the coasts. I know there's much more to life than beer but as far as hobbies (bad term for some, sorry) it's a pretty stable and exciting environment around these parts.

 

FYI, eBS had a couple mistakes for FUNK'd tickets on some of the rare bottles (Framboos, Hommage, etc..).. the tickets previously listed wouldn't have even paid for the bottle cost. Updates posted, sorry about that.

 

Was curious when Framboos was the same # of tickets as Big Tasty. Lineup is ridiculous! Out of curiosity: Know the year on the Classic Gueuze keg?

 

Also out of curiosity: Vintage of the Quetsche bottles? Wondering if there will be a mini 2-year vertical between the bottle share and the main list.

 

Don't know the year, maybe Frederique @AbuNawasBeverage would. My guess is recent.

 

I thought they said 2014. This year I'll actually be able to enjoy the event on the other side of the table. Last year I helped out with pours and perhaps over indulged in Hommage and ADWTD...just a little.

 

Some tickets increased to 4-5 per 4 oz pour. Any word on if cheese shop is going to be there again this year? Last year CJ did an amazing job.

I think the ones that are 4-5 tickets make sense, we paid $10 for Hommage last year as well and I know for many it was the best beer of the day. There's a lot of value to be had, particularly on the draft side. 3 years of La Folie and all those incredible Surly taps (Misanthrope) are just one $2 ticket for a 4 oz pour. $4/two tickets for all the Crooked Stave taps seems like a great value, too. This would be a real fun event to take folks just getting into sours to.

 

Wow, seeing the draft setup in person today is even more exciting! Hope to see a bunch of you tomorrow!

@tapperm If that is you in the surly shirt getting in everyone's way posting up at the pour stations taking pictures you are annoying as hell. Get your pour and move the f**k out of the way. And you pushed my buddy's wife you piece of work.
