Thanks man! Also, you guys get some tasty beer in Texas. @Rootscipio has been integral in my experiences with what ya'll have to offer.

Trying a Rahr & Sons Oktoberfest for the first time. It's not the best but certainly not the worst take on the style. I would drink another.

It makes me happy that you got to try Todd. It finally got to our stores and I haven't had the time to pick any up. My pack was from a trade earlier this week but I would love to get more. I'll keep ya posted sir.

Thanks for that. I've often said I don't that Texas beers don't get much love on this site.

First and foremost, Real Ale Oyster Stout is phenomenal.

    Finishers:

My go-to blonde ale. Robust roasted coffee/cocoa/creamy vanilla flavors with lightly crackery/bready malt and a crisp finish. So fresh and flavorful, glad it is a year round run.

Bought a mix 6 pack of pumpkin beer today. This one just is as good as I remember. Big pumpkin flesh flavors with light-moderate cinnamon, nutmeg, clove spices; and light caramel/brown sugar/biscuity malts. Not the best pumpkin ale I've had, but definitely one with the most actual pumpkin fruit flavors vs spice in the profile. I always enjoy it.

Finishing off the last of the longshots pack. This was a really solid rauchbier, but more of an "introduction" type beer for the style. Balanced flavors of wood smoke, caramel, brown sugar, toast, light chocolate/nuttiness, and some herbal hops with subtle lager yeast earthiness. Light balancing earthy bitterness on the finish. Very smooth and drinkable. Good body/mouthfeel. Overall really tasty and enjoyable, but needs way more rauch malt to even be comparable to Schlenkerla stuff.

Last of the soul style I bought last month. Really delicious IPA. Bright hop flavors of grapefruit, tangerine, mango, pineapple, peach, lemon zest, orange peel, and pine; with some light caramel/toasted bread malt balance and a very smooth and moderate resin/sticky mouthfeel. Very nice tropical/piney/citrus hop complexity all around. If the freshness keeps up appearances like this pack was, I very well may get this again. Less than 2 months old right now after finishing the pack, so that's really impressive for GF around here.

    Cheers!

So yea I basically fell in love with Maiden this week. I dunno what took so long. No shame. They have a good handful of proggy songs too, which makes me moist.

I quite agree. I like a lot of what Real Ale does.

O'Fallon Pumpkin Beer!! I like that one for sure. I even got my ex to drink it while we were dating and she loved it. Her roommate who doesn't drink beer at all, took a few sips and said it's probably the only beer she could drink without thinking it's beer.

I traded a couple of heady and Carton for Todd and Pseudo Sue. I would call the trade a win on both sides.

I'm feeling really good about it and from what I was told at the end of the interview, it would GREATLY surprise me if I don't get it.

I absolutely agree. In fact out of those 4, Pseudo would rank 4th for me. Not to put it down in any way because I really liked it but Heady is Heady, Carton really impressed me, and Todd is a lot like Abrasive which is one of my favorites.

Sorry for the out of focus pic. I rushed to get the bubbles on top of the Aprihop bottle and didn't wait for the autofocus to kick in although Butters seems to be just fine. Go figure!

Not many of the good ones leak out of state unless you trade for them...

I would put Sue 4th as well.
The order of 1 through 3 is very fluid.
