I have this glass and the same glass made by Mikasa. Imperial stouts are excellent to taste in this glass.

I've found comfort in this big ass tulip from Mikasa, which I suppose could be a poor man's Simon Pearce

I keep it pretty simple - Truebeer.com has nice tulips that are solid and work great for IPAs and the like. I love their 18oz snifters as well, which can feel appropriate for some of the maltier selections in the DIPA category.

It's the craftsmanship you're paying for with something like that, each glass being handmade, hand blown, etc. I don't own one but I will assume the quality of the glass (ie imperfection level) is also exceptionally good.

In terms of pure function you're not getting anything a less-costly tulip will deliver on, at least not at a reasonably perceptible level I don't think.

I do own some nice scotch glasses, and some cheap ones. There's definitely a difference in quality.

I'm in a furnished rental. All I had was wine goblets, so I bought 4 of these from Wegmans for about $20. Admitting the $70 glass is wicked cool, does the beer taste better from it?

I've never been able to get my hands on a nonic pint glass, so I use a conic pint glass for pretty much everything. Either that or one of two dimple mugs.

My trusty tulip or my Lost Abbey teku. Really just depends on how careful I feel like being, I'm tired of breaking my dang teku.

Not necessarily my favorite glass, but when Pliny the Younger is contained in it, it's hard not to give it a thumbs up.
