I was recently in Bismarck, North Dakota. There was not the best beer selection but I did manage to get some good brews. Sierra Nevada is everywhere and it is cheap (12 pack of Pale Ale or Hop Hunter for 13.79). SN seemed like it was as readily available as any macro.

As far as I know we can't get SN in AB. Is it distributed anywhere in Canada?

And just FYI: I LOVED Hop Hunter.

It is here in BC. Not everything and not as cheap of course, but it's here.

Also not as fresh. Our thoughtful BCLDB usually "pre-cellars" everything non local for a month or two, which isn't ideal. Hop Hunter showed up a couple weeks back but I think I passed in favour of local options when I saw the bottling date (can't quite remember what it was, mind you).

Nothing in NL, of course, even the Canadian IPAs we get are a few weeks past their prime.

SNPA also became available in Ontario this past spring. The lousy exchange rate doesn't help its price much, though. Still nice to have occasionally, and I hope more SN products follow in the future.

    Now that sounds familiar.

I've been hearing its coming to Alberta for several years, you only hear so much before you go deaf.

I can't understand why SN would not distribute in AB?

Though, with the weak dollar I'll mostly be sticking to the great Canadian brewed beers.

The folks at Keg 'n' Cork in Edmonton announced just a couple days ago that Sierra Nevada is coming to Canada.

Now if only that CDN dollar would go up a bit...

Love SNPA, the Beer Camps and looking forward to their Oktoberfest when stateside but really after people initially buy from the first couple shipments think Canadian beers will prevail. The Canadian dollar is too weak and people will bitch that they are paying $24 for a 6-pack they can buy almost anywhere in the states for $6.99. Heard the first Ballast Point shipment is tiny and the prices are scary but hitting Alberta's best beer stores this week.

Afraid you information is wrong, it is not in new listings for arriving or listed as a registered product in the catalog.

Yeah. I meant to say it's coming to Alberta

At least that's what they said.

SK has brought in limited Sierra Nevada product as far back as 2009. A bunch of places had the Pale Ale a few years ago (stale dated and overpriced though). One beer bar had kegs in 2009-2010. I bought a keg myself in 2010, and a case of Bigfoot.

I remember talking to Ken Grossman in 2009, and he had major concerns about bringing SN to Canada due to price point as a result of our taxation, and of course cold transportation/storage.

I am a huge SN fan, I still regularly wear a t-shirt and ballcap of theirs that I got about 8 years ago, but coming to CAD at this point in time gets a pretty big yawn out of this guy.

Had numerous conversations with Ken about this as well. It seemed their to arbitrary rules as they would ship to England for it to sit in warehouse non refrigerated, then a store non refrigerated but had to be refrigerated all the way through for Canada, which pretty sure they aren't getting at the LCBO. Wasn't all the stuff in Saskatchewan grey market beer as you had Russian River at one time to?

The Pale Ale was here just a year or two ago, no idea how it got here.

There was a spell about 4-5 years ago where SK had Stone, Russian River, Lost Abbey, Port, Avery, 3 Floyds, Founders and Bells. Pretty ridiculous that the govt was buying grey market beer; I had to explain it to Greg Koch, who was none too impressed.

Yeah same conversations with Greg and Vinnie, didn't know about the 3 Floyd's and Founders. Someone in the SLGA wanted the stuff bad.
