Stoneface is one of my favorite small breweries. Smutty/smuttlabs makes amazing and diverse brews, and their new brewery is freakin beautiful

"Seacoast" is only 18 miles (thanks to the NH brewery for educating peeps on this fact w/their rye beer).

NH beer wouldn't exist except for Smutty & early 00's like Moat, Tuckermans, then later Prodigal. And of course, Redhook...

I'd say Lucknow [RIP] rather than Prodigal. People still show up with bottles of Chucklehead, and reminisce about Porter, Helles or Bavarian Spring Bock, all of which have or will be resurrected, after a fashion. The NH Lucknow banner was trotted out for Maine Brewers Guild festival and at least one stalwart arrived sporting a Lucknow cap.

I just did a mini tour a couple of weeks ago. I went to Stoneface, Portsmouth, Throwback, and Smuttynose. Stoneface had the best beer out of that group.

I went with Stoneface - really have enjoyed every beer those guys have put out so far. They just started distro to Massachusetts which is awesome. Looking forward to watching them grow and put out some new stuff

Both NH and ME require growlers from the brewery you are filling up at.

I have a 2-litre swing top with no markings whatsoever that Milly's fills regularly, even though they now have their own labeled growlers. Originally bought it there, when it was first called Stark Mill, years ago. Blue Lobster filled that same growler and slapped a sticker on it... Wish more did that.... I have too much glass.... Anyone want a growler from Northeast Brewing?

    Prosit!

Yes as I understand the legalese of the law requires that brewer 'labels' the growler to some degree and this appears to be a gray area as I've been aware of a few brewers that 're-brand' via stickers. Suffice it to say Blue Lobster no longer does this, and I wasn't aware of others.

From recent clarifications it seems like NH brewers cannot "re-label" with a sticker contrary to what some brewers were doing. But they can add a sticker (or perhaps just fill) a completely blank growler with no branding whatsoever. Not sure if any breweries are currently doing this.

Yeah, that's pretty frustrating. Even though you could make a case that a sticker is indeed a label, most brewers would not go out on a limb and test the liquor commission (rightly so).
