Twin Cities Bottle Hunt

Hey! We're not supposed to call people out here, lest you want to get your trade requests, past posts, avatar picture, tulip glass holding technique slammed!

 

try the north suburbs. there was a single bottle at Rapids, but I snagged it. might have some luck in that area. otherwise, The Wine Shop in Tonka still has a few.

 

Heading into MSP this week and wanted to hunt down some Todd the Axe Man. Saw a few posts, but didn't know the best place to check.

Should be driving up 52 N from Iowa to Bloomington and then will be at Surly and the MN Fair area.

Any help would be appreciated!

 

Not gonna lie, it is dissapearing at an alarming rate from even non-heavily travelled stores. By this weekend it may be a bit of a challenge. I would guess your best bet is smaller stores in the outer ring suburbs

EDIT: To add I would google map liqour stores on your path and just start calling when you are heading up, I bet you will find it somewhere.

 

If you don't care about can date, it shouldn't be too hard to find.

I haven't been looking for it for a while, so jsdavis422 sounds to have better information. Like he said, it would be better to maybe check some places further out from the cities on 52.

 

Yeah, I don't really care since I'm in town only for a day or two hah.

I don't mind driving too much if it's within 30 mins or so. I may look and see if there's anything further south on 52 that may not be raided yet, figured that might be my best bet.

 

It may be worth stopping at some stores in Rochester.

 

Man I don't know... I went to a bunch of stores yesterday and saw it only once. I have had other beer geek friends texting me looking for stores with it as well. I think it's going to be more and more challenging as the week wears on (I could be wrong though).

 

I haven't really looked since mid last week, but at that time, I was seeing it in the north metro area. Now a few days plus a weekend can change a lot, so I don't doubt you. I just thought everyone here was looking for August canning date.

I do know that it is out in my next of the woods as of Friday and pretty sure that it is still is. But then again, I am 20 minutes north of Maple Grove, so I think your idea of south of the cities on his route is probably a good bet to find some.

 

That makes total sense, and I am in bloomington so really been trolling all the southside stores. Obviously yes it's still around, just more of a hunt. btw, boozemart was the last store I saw it at.

Andy's is what I was going to suggest in Rochester. The South Broadway and 41st St NW locations would be your best bet.

 

Axeman doesn't seem too hard to find in the burbs yet. Stopped at 3 stores yesterday in the prior lake/savage area and 2/3 had some in. At least a case at each store. Lots of Pseudo Sue as well.

 

Saw some at Lakeville Liquor off I35 Saturday.

 

Anybody seen BA Buffalo Sweat?

 

BA Buffalo Sweat doesn't come out until September I thought. You see it's only 5.8%?

as of yesterday, it was being canned. not sure it would be on shelves that quick.

 

Picked up a 6 pack of Let It Roll at Ale Jail a couple of hours ago. Can't wait to try it tonight!
