I prefer them fresh. After awhile, all the DFH beers that are over 15+% kinda taste the same. Not to say they are bad, because I like me a big boozy sweet beer from time to time.

It was way to sweet for me, I did not enjoy the one I had. I tried it right when it came out this year. Not saying its a bad beer but I just couldn't get in to it. I will have to try it again next release.

World Wide Stout on the other hand is great.

Fresh, it's very hot...like jet fuel. I have six bottles that I'm planning to drink one of on each of the next six New Year's Eve. I wonder what a 2011 120 will taste like on December 31, 2017.

It's friggin brilliant! It's just a riff on a IIPA... more of an IIIIIPA/Barleywine in my opinion. Tons of caramel and tropical fruit! Everyone tries to pigeon hole what a IIPA should be... I don't get that! That's like telling me I can't stuff my meatloaf with spinach, olives, roasted peppers and goat cheese and glazing it with a balsamic vinegar glaze because it will no longer be a meatloaf... FUCK YEAH IT IS... It's Greek Meatloaf!!!

I agree with the notion that 120 tastes like Greek meatloaf.

Took the words out of my mouth. I got a paint thinner/nail polish 1-2 punch from the only bottle I had. I finished it, but it was brutal.

Absolutely love it. I think what they were able to do making an 18% ABV beer so drinkable amd tasty is art in a bottle. Really one of the most impressive beers I have drank.

IBU's are misleading. SN Bigfoot is, what, 113 IBU's. You need the higher IBU to balance a high ABV beer out so it is not overly sweet.

5 years on a 2006 was really nice. However, from the brewmasters show, I believe the recipe has changed over the years. At the end of the 120 episode, they had a tasting a vintages and picked one batch that tasted the best. They then decided to run with that recipe for the batch after the drain pour.

I tried it and gave it a 3.88 score. Wouldn't go out of my way to get it again.

Hate it a lot! Sickening sweet, this beer is nothing what I look for in an IPA. Just seems to be extreme for extreme's sake. I have had it fresh, aged, and on draft, one of my least favorite craft beers.

Can't get 120 here because of the ABV limits on beer, something right at or slightly higher than most wines so I'm guessing around 14%. I'm not a big fan of most DFH stuff the 90 IMO is weirdly sweet, but I'd be up for tasting a 120 if I ever get a shot.

I like it a lot more on tap than out of the bottle. I would like to try one that's aged a few years, though.

It's pretty terrible, but I only had it fresh. I have one being aged in my cellar though.

i've had fresh and i've had it with 5 years of age... and i like it pretty much all the time as an interesting sipper. was gifted a short-pour bottle from Sam's personal collection, aged 5 years this last fall and it was delicious. for all the smack this beer sometimes gets on here, i'm still a fan.

I split a case with a buddy, I am drinking one every month until I go back next June to get more. This beer is lovely. It is sweet for sure, but so much more going on.
