I might call the bar to find out, but it appears they may not be holding their outdoor Oktoberfest this year. This is one of my favorite events of the year, I hope they still have it. Right now it looks like all they have is an "all day event" on September 19th for the Darmstadt/ Bayern Munich match. It indicates a special menu, and of course mentions their typical stellar Oktoberfest draft list.

Anyone else have any other info? It's also Zwanze Day...

That would be a bummer. I've enjoyed their outdoor beer garden in the past. The bier list for the month looks great though!

It's a semi-bummer. This was their response on Facebook to having the outdoor biergarten. Although I'm not exactly sure what this entails...just the regular draft list and a special German menu all day?

"No, Paulaner isn't doing the Biergarten truck this year. We're moving it indoors on Sept. 19 instead."

Well the site does say "We will be featuring a special German menu from opening until closing along with at least 9 authentic German Oktoberfest beers on draught."

So it won't be totally just the regular draft list.

Unless this is another change, they have most of those Oktoberfest beers on tap each fall from September through October, not just for one day.

The Bronwyn Oktobertfest celebration is happening 9/29 thru 10/11 this year. I haven't seen any details yet, but if its anything like last year it should be worth a visit.

I went on a Saturday last year. It was ok, the Lowenbrau (I believe it was a Kellerbier) from the wooden barrel was exceptional, and the meal was good, but the prices were also exceptional.

It's not the same thing though, it's a week long special, and it's not outside at tables on a beautiful September day (and food that is just as good at half the price).

I wish Idle Hands released their Oktoberfest out the Atwood's garden again, that looked awesome. I wish I had went. The Redbones one is alright, but it's more or less what they regularly do when holding outdoor events.

Bronwyn does have a small outdoor patio w picnic tables but I hear you on the expensive food. It's the kind of place I'll visit a couple of times a year whereas Olde Magouns I visit every couple of weeks.

I wish we were doing it again too! It was a lot of fun and I think everyone who attended really enjoyed it too.

Sadly, there will be no Idle Hands Brocktoberfest this year. A victim of our situation. We can't get the tanks cold enough over at Night Shift to brew lagers and I don't want to half-ass it. Maybe as the temps drop in the brewery so the chiller doesn't have to work so hard but I'm not counting on it.

The city of Everett is throwing a huge celebration called the Village Fest on September 19th (which is the first official day of Octoberfest). They will be closing down the streets around the brewery and throwing a big outdoor bash. In honor of that we will have 4 German beers (Pilsner, Octoberfest lager, hefe, and a Pretzel inspired lager), steins pours, outdoor seating with our authentic Octoberfest tables.

Plus, there will also be 10 food trucks and a killer live band outside. Can't announce who just yet, but it will be awesome although not authentically German. Also, Short Path Distillery will be making cocktails for those who don't want beer. Should be an awesome day!

Bummer, I believe it was on a Zwanze Day too right? Because I distinctly remember seeing photos of it on Twitter while looking at the line to get in Lord Hobo and wishing I had picked Atwood's instead.

I also thought I saw the Brocktoberfest at the liquor store the other day...last year's batch? :slight_frown:

I'm so in for this...sounds like there won't be any limits on capacity if all the streets are closed down too.

Shouldn't be. We will be pouring beers outside and its possible that people will be able to walk around the streets with beers. The details are still being worked out.

Olde Magoun's did a nice job with their (indoor) ceremonial keg tapping last night. They tapped the wooden keg of Paulaner Oktoberfest Wiesn a little after 7pm. Free Paulaner glassware and free pours. The keg was dry in about 20 min. 8 other German Oktoberfest biers on tap and proper 1/2 and 1 liter glassware for all of them(!). A few lederhosen and dirndls. were spotted in the crowd. And kudos to Chef Howie. He has done another amazing job with the special German menu. The potato pancakes and the wurst were excellent.

Thanks for this write up! I plan on heading there this weekend for a few half liters of various Oktoberfests.

Had a great time last night, loved the beer line-up and Chef Howie nailed it last night ... food was outstanding. Hoping I can make it for the 19th for more O-fest fun.

Details now available on Olde Magoun's all-day Oktoberfest celebration on Sept 19. The highlight is a 4pm tapping of a wooden keg of Warsteiner Oktoberfest along with the Darmstadt vs Bayern Munich match and all of the other Oktoberfest biers on tap.

Oh, cool, thanks for this! I was there this past Saturday (and the Saturday before), 2 liters of Oktoberfest down so far (four half liters)...and I intend on going back for much much more.

We decided on heading over to Nightshift for the afternoon, but maybe I'll swing by some Warsteiner first. There's also a Rogue tap take over at Redbones on the 19th...and of course it's Zwanze Day. So much going on this Saturday!
