anyone know anything about this? happening in late Oct at Barclays Center. http://www.tappedfest.com/ seems like a few solid names are involved - cigar city, founders, stone etc but no word on what they might actually be pouring and the site itself is pretty vague. who's got the inside scoop?
Damn not to be "that guy" but I wish the brewery list was a little better. Agreed OP, would like to hear more about this
I don't think you are being "that guy" by expressing your feelings that the draft list is impacting your decision to spend the money or not...it isn't like somebody gave you free beer and you are mad about it...
Ha thanks. Sometimes I get the feeling I'm becoming a beer snob . I live really close to Barclays and the idea of this made me excited until I saw the list was lackluster.
I'm in the exact same boat hence my initial post - live super close, would love for it to be great, but always in fear it could be something totally lackluster - especially with no idea who the folks behind it are and what level of event they are trying to put together
Yeah I'm kind of sad it's not at 1 Hanson place this year, that building is beautiful. But funny enough, I walk by the Brooklyn Expo center to work and I always thought to myself that it would make a great spot for a beer fest. And lo and behold someone else thought the same thing. There will be def more space to walk around. 1 Hanson is nice, but can get bottle necked. I got a ticket, so I'll be there. And looks like I'm going to Tapped. It's so cheap and close to my apt, why not?
With these festivals that may be new, need to wonder if they are just trying to cash-in on the craft beer craze which could lead to a lackluster (for beer geeks) tap list. $29 seems awfully cheap. For those who don't like to hang with the rest of the common folk, you could go VIP and get the following: Access to the Calvin Klein Club VIP Lounge Private restroom area I am wondering what is wrong with the regular restrooms !?
Guh. Lol. That was a bad one. Standard SKI distributor beers. I think I only tried three beers I've never had before and they all tasted old. Got way too crowded with clueless bros. I was done within 30 minutes. This summed it up for me: Vendor: "Delirium Tremens or Delirium Nocturnum?" Attendee: "What? Huh?!?" Vendor (rolling his eyes): "Light or Dark?" Kind of fun to hang out on the floor of Barclays though. EDIT: Forgot to mention the bomb sniffing dogs walking around. That's a new one for me at a beer fest.
