Modern Glasses Purpose-Designed For Beer Drinking

Wow, seriously expensive. I didn't buy into the whole glassware thing at first, but now I truly think that all beer tastes better in a teku or tulip.

 

I have to agree. Of course I am an old school fool who drank beer from a traditional mug for years before being initiated into the finer points of proper glassware....

 

But were they designed by folks interested in visual effects or were they designed by working with Food Science folks who do the research on how to enhance flavors?

I'm guessing the former, since none of them look like the Sam Adams Perfect Pint glass.

 

Anyone willing to buy @impending a set to see the photos he's able to conjure up?

 

That ipa glass on the far left is awesome as is the tall pilsner glass. If not $100 id buy them

 

Talk about an aggressive pour...they are pretty clean looking but lack...soul.

 

I'm a glass freak, and I usually drink most of my beer from the can. But I love certain glasses for some of my beers, just depends. I think they're kinda cool looking, but I'd rather have e Dipa glass posted a few days ago, nice hand blown crystal. They're a bit pricy, but $25 a piece isn't all that bad, Total Wine sells glasses that aren't near that nice for 10-12.

I've had some of the best beers poured into mug club sized mugs, shaker pints, shoes, on the floor.

I want to say there is some science, But drinking out of a can has sort of become my thing now too.

 

I actually have the IPA one, Sierra Nevada was giving them away at a tap takeover. Has a hop cone etched on the bottom and Sierra Nevada etched on the side

 

...or a $9 Duvel glass and $91 of beer.

 

Excellent idea. More beer, less guilt.

 

.... what is the purpose of the bunt upon the bottom of the glasses.... I see something that the masses might think "oh cool" and by. More power to em I do suppose. Wish I had thought of it first but I do not see the functionality.

Step 2. Use it for everything.

My guess would be that on a hard pour you would get more carbonation release, beats the shit out of me

 

Do you know if they are nucleated on the bottom? I like that about the Spiegelau, I can sit here four hours and watch the bubbles flow up from the bottom of my glass. I just poured a Hop Stooped from a growler in it about 40 min ago and it is still bubbling up. Blows my mind, every time you agitate it it goes wild

 

I'm not sure I even like them - at all. They're just slick versions of existing glassware, but they're sharper and less welcoming.

 

Negative. But the aroma out of a Teku is second to none...they make every beer I drink out of them smell (and in turn, taste) better than any other glass I've ever used. I still like my snifters and wide mouth tulips, and I think Tekus are weird looking, but they just work.
