Notable Releases - DC/NOVA/MD

Heading to DC tomorrow and hoping to try DC Brau Solar Abyss. Is my best bet just looking on Beer Menus? I'll be at the brewery on Thursday, but I don't think it's on. Thanks!

 

Look up "Lost Dog Cafe Dunn Loring", they're having a DC Brau tap takeover tomorrow and Solar Abyss will be on. Its not in DC proper, but it may be your best bet.

 

Smoke and Barrel had it on draft as recently as yesterday according to Beermenus

 

They definitely won't have Solar Abyss, but they have 6ers and draft pours of Wings. I thought that they only brewed this once in June, so I'm sure supplies are getting low. Surprised places still have it.

If you can, try and hunt down some Ocelot Brewing stuff. I think Meridian Pint/Brookland Pint has some of their stuff, as well as Smoke and Barrel. It's definitely worth a trip to the brewery if you have time. Best IPA's in the area by far.

 

Anyone know if Helldorado has hit DC proper yet? FW releases are such a pain in the ass here for some reason.

Magnolia's on King is expanding on their craft beer program by collaborating with local breweries for special offerings. On Thursday, August 27th at 6 PM, we will tap open a firkin of Port City's Optimal Wit with Nectarines, selling it for $5 per glass, for the next 72 hours, or until it is gone. Suggested savory and sweet food pairings will be featured as well.

 

Total Wine McLean has some more GWAR beer and got a shipment of AleSmith stuff Tuesday (Speedway Stout, Old Numbskull, Grand Cru, and Lil' Devil) in addition to its ESB, Nut Brown, and IPA. There's also a Nebraska Brewing Whisky Barrel Aged Imperial Stout.

 

Not that i've heard of, rumors of POTENTIALLY Friday or Tuesday. But it is unconfirmed... because... well... its probably the worst distro in the area so who knows until it gets here

Has anyone else here tried Sorry Chicky? I got a really strong aroma of Elmer's glue, my girlfriend said it smelled like paint, and another friend said the same thing about a separate can that he drank.

 

They also still have Bourbon County Barleywine on draft. Had to pick up a growler of that.

 

Super Flare IPA at Downtown Crown. 4 Hands/Wicked Weed collab. Sounds pretty awesome, but I'm a sucker for anything that has Wicked Weed's name on it.
