    Edit- throw in TPS Report by Trinity. Most unique Brett strain I've consumed. The smell is wild-tangerine, smarties & passionfruit, but the taste is extrordinary. It's like Sprite and grape Pixie Stix dried out into cardamom lemonade. Awesome.

    Top 5 this year assumed to mean top 5 that are new to me this year. Otherwise Rochefort 10 and Weihenstephaner Hefe would permanently have a spot on this list.

    So here goes.

    Rodenbach Grand Cru - I finally understand the fuss about sour ales.
    St. Bernardus Tripel - The smiling monk always knows how to make a great beer.
    Stone Ruination - glad I was able to try this legendary DIPA before it's gone forever.
    3 way tie
    Tripel Karmeliet - absolute world class beer.
    North Coast Old Rasputin - arguably the best RIS I've ever had.
    Ayinger Weizenbock - just a fantastic wheat beer.
