Got a couple 4 packs from a couple of different shops. Man, was it worth the effort! Very balanced, love the heat on the swallow, and the silky mouthfeel is spot on. But it's the nose and taste that rise above all that! Outstanding job, best new release of 2015 for me. Or so far...

@Sixpoint In Texas, just about everyone is telling me we will not see this due to some distribution kerfuffle. You think we'll get any?

I moved out of Sixpoints distrobution area, and was pisst not to find it. But i had a buddy bring me a 4pk from RI, to a music festival we both we to in upstate NY, so now I have three to enjoy. @Child_Pugh drank my 4th and seemed to enjoy it. Will report back soon. #covet

I went totally blind on this one and had my distributor get me an entire case. My first try of it was enjoyable, but I questioned a bit if I would enjoy the entire case. Well 2-4 packs later I can definitely say I love this beer. I've always been a coffee beer fan and I'll still say Peche Mortel is my absolute favorite and always in my fridge, but this beer is right behind it. It's less extreme than Peche and more drinkable and thus I seem to reach for it more. Regarding the alcohol, it's totally hidden, even cold.

I believe my case will last me probably until about Xmas or so, I can see how this will not age all that well. Drink em up fresh! @Sixpoint you nailed this one. Very well done, a Sixpoint favorite for sure.

PS: Grabbed a uber fresh sixer of Bengali yesteday too, wow that beer was phenominal last night, better than I remembered.

I've got plenty to go around. I'm thinking of picking up a couple more 4pks before they're gone forever. If you feel you need a few more to satisfy, I'm sure we can work something out.

Finally found some and haven't had a chance to try it yet but I am going to reserve a four pack to mix with Hi-Res this winter as a premium Black & Tan, Hi-Bean anyone?

Finally! It just got delivered to my local Wegman's! Thought I missed it! It was worth the wait! To top it off, it was only $8.99/4 pack. Ridiculous deal!!!

Just did a taste test of Ballast Point Victory at Sea, Founders Porter and 4Beans. I have had VAS and Founders, never had 4 Beans. Had my wife pour them so I didn't know what was what. Was able to identify each beer successfully. As far as what was best, sorry Sixpoint, but it was even close, Victory at Sea was the winner for me by a wide margin. Creamier, better mouth feel and the vanilla was very much apparent and tasty in VAS. 4Beans was thin tasting compared to VAS.

Anyone out of distro looking for 3 cans of 4Beans, let me know, will send you some on me.

Appreciate Sixpoint's contribution on this site!

I had 4Beans for the first time last night. I agree with jrnyc that it isn't as good as VAS. It reminds me of Weyerbacher Sunday Morning Stout without the bourbon. It's still a really good porter. I'd say it is better than Founders Porter.

If you like sweet, VAS is probably better for you. If you don't like sweet as much and like more porter flavor, 4 Beans is it. For me, 4 Beans is way more drinkable and enjoyable.

If anybody wants to trade I can get it but it's $13.99 so I'd want something comparable.

Man I saw this on the shelf yesterday and didn't pick it up... I looked at it but it just didn't click!

I will have to stop back and pick it up.

I had another one last night, and I think this advice is key. I really get that metallic/mineral taste when this is cold. I let it sit for a bit and that flavor dissipated. I find that common with many porters/stouts, but I perceive 4Beans to be one of the stronger examples of the metallic taste.

Once it is gone though, it is VERY good!

    Has anyone else noticed this??

Finally found and tried 4beans. I don't think this is the beer for me, and I am a big fan of Sixpoint's stuff. Just too sweet for my taste.
