Pittsburgh - New Beers & Local Breweries

How many upstart breweries can afford to start in a "happening" place, though? The happening places have expensive real estate.

 

It's not the least happening of places either. East Liberty's got things going for it.

It's solid, but I liked Galaxy and Nelson a bit more. The current hoppy offerings are really good.

You could go set up a tent outside one of the fine establishments that is having a New Belgium launch party......I know how excited we all are for them to pedal their tragically average beer here. First Sweetwater, now NB! When will the madness end?

The only time I've ever had Sweetwater was when I was in New Orleans earlier this year. Walked into a bar and ordered one. I was served a $13 draft in a plastic cup. I don't know if my disgust for the price of the draft turned me off, but I haven't touched a beer from them since, haha.

Fiancee's friend is having her birthday at Howl at the Moon tonight. Doing everything I can to not go.

I couldn't make it down to the ballpark in time for the game. I'm stuck here at work in Southpointe for a little while longer, and it takes me a decent amount of time to get home.

Drinking overpriced DFH. On the bright side of things, I guess it's better than drinking overpriced Miller Lite?

 

At Blue Dust now, searching for an online Voodoo draft list, unsuccessfully. Depending on how long I'm waiting for wife and kiddos, I may bounce over there. Realize this is too early for most, but I'm early to bed/early to rise--got a pretty nice little Saturday planned, Home Depot...
