18th Street is awesome. First good thing to come to Gary, IN in a long time.

Vibes was awesome. Caught Dumpstaphunk, Umphrey's, WSP and the Rhythm Biscuits. Disco Devils... whatever you want to call them.. truly one of the greatest experiences of my life. They closed the night with We Bid You Goodnight with a choir on stage and it almost brought me to tears.

Also, was getting hooked up with Sierra Nevada/Allagash Beer Camp collab on draught, so that made it even cooler. They had narwhal but I couldn't bring myself to drink that, it would have gotten me way too rocked...

Came across this gem on the interwebs :grinning:

I had a chance to chat with Sam at the Midwest release of American Beauty at Jerry's in Chicago. Asked if he was a Deadhead growing up or more of a casual fan. He was a bit hesitant but explained that he is more an appreciator of music history. We had a few laughs and as I enjoyed the cover band playing the entire American Beauty album Bluegrass style, I looked over to see a big grin on his face!

Scanned through the responses but didn't catch anybody mentioning Golden Road Brewing Company

I may have missed it, but if not, many of their beers have/reference Grateful Dead in the names

Smartmouth (local Norfolk brewery) has put out a few Grateful Dead inspired seasonals right around Garcia's b-day past couple of years... they're not distributed thought; they're brewer only

Awesome thread. I've got a live recording of Ripple playing right now. "...that was not made by the hand of man"
