Wow. Forgot this thread even existed.....

You didn't even bother to read my post, did you?

Parse that statement for just a minute and you'll realize that you're essentially saying the same thing.

You forgot you posted that, didn't you? You personally didn't get enough "wild" character to call it a "wild ale". YOU. Not the brewer. So if you don't think the brewer or the BJCP should call it a wild ale, then you are right, they are wrong, right?

It's a wild ale, whether you want to call it that or not. You can comment til the cows come home, but if that's what style SA thinks it is, and that's the style that the BJCP would label it as, that's what it is. Sorry.

Again, chill out, drink a beer, and relax. I wasn't trying to start shit with you, you shouldn't be trying to start shit with me. We're supposed to be advocates of beer, remember?

Here's me commenting until the cows come home:

Guess what....Sam Adams has never explicitly classified these as "wild ales". Go ahead and scope each beer's profile on the SA page. It's actually an interesting read.

So do you know who submitted each of these beers into the BA database? Probably just some dude. No SA brewer, no BJCP judge....just....some......dude. Granted, some of the classifications seem proper (New World Tripel, Thirtheenth Hour), but calling the American Kriek or Stony Brook "wild ales", to me, is a reach. Honestly, it really doesn't matter as both of these are incredibly foul beers in the end.

You're welcome to disagree. Beer Advocate.com
