Gifted a Fred Batch 1 today.

    great "wow" extra, even better "cool experiment" drink-it-yourself.

    myself, i couldn't in good faith trade it for anything of "high value" unless i knew my trading partner was both fred's biggest fan, was obsessed with cellaring, and had a lot of "high value" beer to part with in the first place.

    edit: this goes for any beer likely to be as oxidized as b1 fred.

    yeah that bottle sure was.. but heck when a store sells it to you for 10 bucks, why not try it :slight_smile:

    I've had the good fortune to sample batch 1 of both Fred and Adam recently. Fred b1 came from Gary Fish's personal cellar and, while there was some oxidation in the taste, was beautiful to smell and still enjoyable overall. Adam b1 was shared with me at the tasting room, so potentially of the dubious lineage described above. It was certainly past its prime. I'm happy I got to tick it, but I can't really recommend anyone spend $75 on it.
