Did you mention this to them? Maybe they poured from the wrong tap handle.

Yes...I sent it back and the dude didn't care. I asked him to swap out for their standard ipa-Man O War...and it was straight drain-pour material. Took 3 drinks and bounced.
    Pizza wasn't bad!

I've never had anything but great service there. Strange. I didn't get to check it out this last weekend when I was there, but that is definitely one of my go-to stops when I'm in town.

That's unfortunate, I had it a few times over the past two weeks, last time was last Tuesday and it was very similar, not as much melon which I was fine with, but I could definitely tell it was the same beer. I know it's been on awhile, maybe they put on old keg???

Sorry to hear you had a bad experience, let me know if there is anything we can do to help make it right. I can assure you it is the same recipe, same 10+lbs per barrel of hops and same malt bill we have used in the past batches. I am wondering if the wrong beer was poured by accident. Again, sorry to hear and let me know if there is anything we can do.

Thanks Joe...I'll call it a one off. When in town, I go there specifically for that...and will again in a couple of weeks.
It felt like the same beer, but that melon-hopiness was vacant in the nose or taste.
So, while I believe it was the same beer, if I'm the only complaint, maybe I've got the problem.

And I don't expect every bartender to be a beer dork, but I would like them to at least take some pride in the house beer. This guy though...didn't say anything about it and didn't care and the place was not overwhelmingly busy. Thx

It is a bummer to hear about how he reacted, hit me up via PM next time you make it by and we can have a beer if it works out or at least will make sure you are taken care of, hearing things like this from people who respect beer bums me out for sure.

I would agree there is a bit less melon, but I also find a lot more pineapple character in it. The only thing I can attribute to that is the El Dorado in this batch is from a different "lot number" from the farm (ie, different appelation) and that could be contributing to more pineapple character and less melon. Beer is always changing because it is an agrictural product and the way we perceive beer is always changing because of... Well our life, there is no right or wrong, it is all about the interpretation of the beer in the moment that we taste it.

We aren't a farmhouse brewery per se but we rely on our farmers to allow us to create the beers we brew and we will be out in Yakima in 2 weeks meeting with our farmers and selecting the hops that will make our beer what it is for this next year. I appreciate the feedback regarding the hop character because it helps us in selecting our raw materials.
