those are the 3 styles that dominate the top 250

    which do you prefer

I voted for Belgian Strong Ale and it just barely edges out Imperial Stout

    don't I know it

nothing better than a big double IPA on a Summer night

then again nothing better than sharing Rochefort 10 with my friends over the holidays

then again nothing better than a huge 11.5% ABV coffee stout on a cold Winter night

Doesn't matter not all are created equal, depends on how good the beer is and what I am in the mood for.

Of those three styles though Belgian Strong Pale and Tripels are my personal favorites.

This is a weird poll. I would have barleywine instead of Belgian strong ale.

that's what I try to explain to my gf after I come back from the bottle shop

"Well I mean the Chimay is REALLY good, this new Double IPA has a good rating and is limited release, and the weather is getting cooler so I want these Imperial Stouts to drink too"

Belgian strong ale is one of the top three styles in the Top 250?

That's surprising to me--I would have guessed American Wild Ale.

    not sure why it matters......

I picked DIPA. I'd take a super clean, hoppy, hop bomb (Haze, Green, Heady, etc, etc) any day. Just not into all the sweet going unchecked

When I first got into craft, I was all Belgian or bust. Now my palate has shifted to the hoppy end of the spectrum and stayed put.

Hehe. I put Double IPA but I love Imp. Stouts the same. I got love for Belgian strong ales too but only on occasion.

Such a tough call but I went stout. IPA is my favorite style but I prefer Imperial stouts to Imperial/double IPAs when it gets to that level...I think

You're not the only one!! Belgian is what got me into craft beer. I liked all the non-BMC stuff before , when I was in college such as Anchor steam, Sam Adams, and Sierra. But Belgian beers sent me on my way. Gulden Draak was my favorite beer for a hot minute.

That's really tough I'd have to go with imperial stout, even though the ability to drink iipas all year puts it right up there with it.
