    Am I missing the thread?

I was trying to remember how much it was last year. They must have changed the format because I don't recall $85 tickets. . .

This is what happens when demand greatly outweighs supply. I think we will see this happen with more things. Free events going paid. Paid events getting more expensive. Affordable beers becoming luxury items.

Will see? It's been happening for years now..
    BCBS variant bombers 2011: $11-13
    BCBS variant bombers 2014: $25-30

FOBAB and DLD ticket price increases year over year. Bomber prices north of $10 for hoppy beers are now the norm.

That said, some of the price increases are good. I'll gladly pay more for DLD with bathrooms and real even management than for a free shit show. From what I understand, Zwanze day without tickets was heading towards the latter.

Pricing aside, I do commend WLV using some of the proceeds ($10 per ticket) to make a donation to a local food pantry.

I saw that Side Project's cost $75 this year, so pretty much they are pretty much the same cost (WLV says that $10 is going to charity). I was going to try for tickets, but will probably pass since Farm Aid overlaps with it.

That Side Project event looked nuts though, all the SP offerings on top of the loons.

Guy who names himself after an adjunct stout isn't interested, what a shocker.

Maybe I read the SP blog wrong (or there was more info beyond their blog), but I saw them with 3 Cantillon offerings and one SP offering, along with 4 other drafts. WLV has 5 Cantillon offerings, plus 7 others on draft (quality of those is obviously subject to each person's opinion - I don't have enough experience with all of them to really opine). Plus, WLV includes food, which SP doesn't seem to, I think. I'm sure any of the events will be a great time, though.

are the pours/drink tickets not included for the price of admission?

Yes, that is what was included with the ticket, but it sounded like they would have a larger selection of SP and guest beers on draft, as well as bottles of Framboos and various Cantillon bottles available for purchase for onsite consumption. Yes more money, but it looked like there would be lots of great options.

I was pumped but $85 is too much. The draft list is okay i guess, nothing special. Maybe all of the releases and bottle sales and TBA are worth the price tag, but im not putting $170 down on a maybe.

I thought it would be cool to go to this but $85 is a tough pill to swallow especially since I'll be at both days of the Goose Island block party anyway.

You mean $85 not $170, limit one ticket per person.

Gotcha. That's the part that could get expensive at any of these events - the extras such as hopefully scoring a bottle or two for purchase. If I didn't have some other stuff going on, I think I'd be willing to spend the $85 - my guess is that people will have a great time at it. It's tough for me to get another nearly full day beer event, though, since I'll be at the Funvitational the weekend before.

Got one. So did my husband. That wasn't as painful as I suspected it could have been.
